Seeing that GTDC is 40ft, and guard range is 30ft.. No, they would not have guard if pulled in at max range (and within that short amount of time they would more than likely die to the blob aoe, even before their feet touch the ground).

Tbh, if I'm ever playing from a destro point of view, there's literally nothing that will randomly put you out of position (besides a punt of course).. From an Order point of view, it feels like you're in a pinball machine with the amount of CC that doesn't give immunity (should see how high you can go after being knockbacked by a SH, then bouncing off the top of a zealot channeling their AOE knockback, then being chosen tactic punted, oh boy...).

Let Order get more cc wth a damage tradeoff and vice versa

This would happen, if your guard tank is rooted to the ground, sleeping or just afk. There plenty ways to track your guard target and move with it. Enough time to move 10ft, even better if you stand between your teammate and the enemy blob.
Dying is no option.
