Can I guard anybody?

Playing as IB, can I spank guard on any fellow order player or do we need to be in the same squad?

Same group,but you can put ur oathfriend on any ally and boost em without being in a group

You can only put Guard on a party member. But IB (and BG) have ... I think your version is call Oath Friend? and this ability will convey some of your buffs to your Oath Friend. This has a larger range than Guard and can be placed on any order character and is not part of the Global Cool Down. An example using my BG, is seeing some random person getting focused and Dark Protector (our version) on them and then Shield of Hate (absorb shield) them all in 1 GCD, perhaps letting them further smite that foul dwarf.... well, you get the picture.
