Why does the Bright Wizzard gets Damaged by its own explosions?

I came accros this Bug / "Feature" recently,

once combustention is building up, it triggers exposion on crit hits on enemys. The Problem: Even as this explosion is caused by my own fire wizzard - it hurts my character directly ?!

The question i have: why is this ? How can the Magci that my Mage create - hurt my self? Why is the bright wizzard not resistant aginst its own effects? This missery almost killed my mage quite often of mobs come in close melee range.

Can this be solved? or is this a feature of this game?

This is their core mechanic, it's how the class was designed.

Thank you for your feedback its kinda hard to accept, that a wizzard most likely kills himself if he triggers to much explosions by himself as the damage dealer hes supposed to be. thats realy hard for pve without healer.

This is the reason why you shouldn't play alone. The game is centered around groups.

The magic in the Warhammer universe is difficult to master, and can be really dangerous for the people using it. This mechanic for the Sorcerer/Bright Wizard is a nice representation of the Warhammer magic.
