In a complete vacum, just counting damage output vs a averege armored target, then I guess chosen have a slight advantage. SLIGHT. But that's not how the game is played. Im fairly certain that Kotbs hit light armor classes harder. If you also take into account fighting melee classes and have OYG activated im fairly certain damage is about equal or possibly even an advantage for kotbs. If you add other factors, such as total dmg output from the group then Kotbs win again. And if consider factors that actually win the game, aka group utillity such as increased healing,/dps, surival, crowd controll etz Kotbs is just the best damn class in the game.

I had a good laugh here. You obviously never met chosens in full off sov, with destro team mates debuffing spirit for them (which is like nonstop). Damage is equal? :D Are you some mighty troll? Spirit damage chosens are topping every possible dps chart, 6-800 damage autoattacks, 4-500 per hit Relentless rounds which you can't defend against. You have no clue what are you talking about. Average scenario, a top geared chosen vs top geared knight is about 120k damage vs 40k damage tops.

Relentless is defendable. I've ran gear with capped str and some +melee power. Those numbers you're throwing out there are fairy tale numbers or against someone with low resists on top of being resist debuffed.

Dude it's really not. See for yourself. Everyone is "low resist" basically after a sorc looks at you, a magus debuffs you or a zealot uses m2 on you, for example. See some dps chosens like Insolence, Tessier, etc... look up at their game in SCs. They melt anyone without effort. At the same time they don't give up anything of their tankiness. That tactic that chosens received totally messed up this balance.

You're basing your opinion purely on anectodal evidence coming from pug scs. Not a good start, but anyway...

The reason why Chosens (and Kotbs too) can deal an absolute **** of damage is due to their PSM scaling in odd ways when they reach around 1k - 1050 str. From some testing done with Chosens, every 50 strenght or so above 1k is basically a 40 to 50 increase in actual damage with Relentless (Or Myrmidia's Fury). Now, getting to 1050 Str obviously comes with a ton of downsides in other stats, so don't go around claiming they don't give up anything, because they do.

Arguably a meme deep Conquest kotb can actually deal more damage and be generally better with Myrmidia's Fury and Staggering Impact due to having reliable triple stacking armor debuffs in Concussive Runes + Demo Strike + Force of Opportunity/Stonebreaker (2600 to 3200 armor debuff) on classes that are S tier for smallscale. Added benefit is the fact that triple armor debuffing also increases everyone's damage by an incredible amount, unlike the Chosen + Sorc meme setup that only helps those two.

By the way, Auras and Glean Magic don't stack since both are Abilities. If you want to triple stack spirit debuffs you need Shadow of Disaster (tactic) + Aura (ability) + Zealot m1 (morale)
They done stole my character's names. Can't have **** in RoR.
