City contribution

I am wondering whats taken into account in city contribution because i am constatly on the lowest numbers even tho i am usually in the top 3 dmg and always trying to complete the objectives. Can someone explain to me what matters?

No one really knows, try your best and try to get 10 medals per siege on average and you are doing fine.

The only real advice anyone can give you is "be near kills when they happen", other than that it's pretty much a mystery what actually gives contribution.
