Career paths have changed a few times since launch. Trees were abit more mixed in the past to suit the career style. They were reworked into dps lifetap heal trees but the mechanic was left as was.

I still like the proposed rework by the devs from years back where the mechanic has 3 points and abilities from vaul can use them from either traq or force. So dps dps dps instasilence or heal heal heal poweredup shield for instance. Really simple and gives more options for what to use the built up mechanic on.

They also had one where heal and dps stacked as you increased doing one or the other but that locks the class even more into pure heal or pure dps.

Yeah all classes really could have done with an overall rework like they did with swtor.

Disciplines? Or what?

I fail to understand how the proposed change to AM is different than mine(well except it's 3 stacks instead of 5 ;) ). I'd love to see how classes looked before they were pigeonholed. Have a link/screenie/anything?

Hey,
I'm sorry if this has been raised before in this very thread, but I haven't seen it, so I dare to make a suggestion:

I've read Azarael stating that changes that would make this game different from the original would be implemented later on (if ever). That was a reply to someone suggesting that WH fervor shouldn't be applied in stacks but instantly. My suggestion doesn't fall in this category I think.

What I would like is to see some day the changes that were approved by the devs in old WAR and present in the test server concerning SM and BO. Those changes, if you remember, weren't implemented because the game died before they made it to the live server. But they were the result of an effort to compensate those two classes which had been neglected for so longt that even the developers of old WAR eventually felt thta they should do something about it.

One of the problems of WAR was that it was left to die for a long long time and some classes had to wait for years before they were fixed. Some of them were buffed after long neglect (SW for example) while others never got to se justice done to them (SM and BO).

I think it would be great to consider those late changes as part of the original game, as they were meant to be, and I'd really appreciate if our devs in RoR would consider applying them some day instead of the old superseded features of BO and SM. I see this as an opportunity to improve the game and somehow continue the work of the previous developers. In fact, it seems the only way to be really faithful to the original game, because, as I said before, only the premature death of the game prevented those new features to be present in the game.

Just an idea, I am open to criticism and ready to admit I might have overlooked some things. I have no idea of coding or of how difficult that would be, if it is at all.

Afaik the problem with the 1.4.9 changes is, that the new abilities (tooltips etc.) were never implemented in the client.
If mythic would have pushed the updated client code to the players through the patcher (even if not activated yet), it would likely be easy to do this.
I can only remember one of the new abilities working correctly on the PTS back in the days and this was the SM/BO "friendly pounce" that wasn't even mentioned in the patchnotes.

But as azarael wrote, i think the focus is atm on making stuff work (mostly) like on 1.4.8.
New code (new bugs) and deep balancing changes would be probably a bit too much at once.

Btw: does someone recall the abilities name (friendly pounce) for the SM and BO?

Edit:
I don't like the idea of a pounce on the BO (lore wise).
I would rather have a BO ability like a charge through enemy players, that is pushing/punting enemy players away left and right for a short distance to reach the friendly target. The range should be shorter than the SMs friendly pounce, for balancing it with the additional CC component.

But this is probably not possible, because of friendly collision detection.

1.4.9 please god no.

So much fail in every possible way in the stuff they pushed to PTS.

They didn't even have the guts to fix the talismans bug and instead conjured up the idea of fixing RDPS by slapping on a weapon contribution. So basically lets buff SORC / Bw rotations and possibly in the long run Festering arrows *clap* *clap*.

The prospect of jumping BO/SMs just leaves me baffled. (Jump **** was why I hated Star Wars hop hop PvP)

Ever heard of those SpArKlY fun moments in war that included funneling collision detection and tank walls? Move a turtle tank or let the WL pounce in and rest jump in past the defense. Let keep infiltrators get support by a flying guard and AOE heal SPAM from outside sounds great. Bottom line they never ever understood their own game.

SM/BO lacked a 10 pts KD (as all tanks have). A ST punt (as all tanks have), small changes to bellows/enchants to be more beneficial to the group and AP cost 0 on those. Rework of 1-2 abilities that due to the debuff stacking change became obsolete.

The only thing in 1.4.9 that wasn’t an utter fail was the pounce bug fix
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

As I recall, an additional change in 1.4.9 was that the AP drain abilities at Khaine and Brawler 5 stole 50 Action Points instead of simply causing the enemy to lose 50 AP over 5 seconds. Opinion?
