Brut or Sav? How did mara’s build back in the day?

Given that the post asked "Brut or Sav? How did mara’s build back in the day?" and he listed T4 builds, people were just answering the question asked

If limited to T2, and although I myself like Savagery best I'd forgoe the small WS buff in favour of Jagged Edge

For pure damage (esp if you run 1x Sav Mara and 1x Brut) however you'd have to at least consider the doubling up of Brute Force and Corrupted Edge in Brutality which with modest gear would most likely softcap Str, allowing you to itemize differently to make up for the shortfall in WS

It was with me, TenTon. Actually in my Mara character, "Spike" (speaking of Sav.... ). I lost my connection to server, then i decided to actually cook my dinner =)

Give me 1 day or so to actually learn to use this carrer builder and i will post my old solo t4 build, i both need to learn use the web and remember with detail things. 1st i notice its too much placed in Sav, Monst its in overall a better path, and i told, Sav its great for the PvP buffs and debuffs.

I will return tomorrow or the day after.

PS: Most ppl used Brut, specially Impale, for PvE, and actually, for PvE and only taking into account numbers, Brut its better, but the lack of de/buffs, specially Touch of Rot and Corruption, makes the path a little underpowered for PvP, whr ppl stack stats to the cap point.

EDIT: pretty damn sure that it was like this. Im not sure of the morale 2..... but pretty damn sure in the rest.

Yeah i know that choppa is the best melee dmg dealer on destro (but not as good as slayer and i hope this imbalance is addressed down the line)

the problem is that choppa is a very gear dependent class and getting gear for choppa is very hard to find/get atm furthermore recently ive had a string of bad luck with the server, i traded for a chop bq and x2 lady choppas only to have the mail delete all my items then again on the day we had the 200+ people rvr event, i traded for a chop bq and bloody choppa shoulders only to have the items not comeback after the crash

this more or less has resulted in me having to shelve a bunch of my classes, talking to dana when she was on, she apologized but said that their was nothing she can do

The dwarf hater is right again.
To make this a little more clear: To judge on the value of class, you can't simply look at only one aspect (e.g. damage output), you have to take everything into consideration.
Under the line, the marauder had always the best debuff and defense potential of all melee dps classes, while his damage potential was raised to match other mdps some time after release.

If I remember it correctly a Mara was 20-30% behind in raw ST DPS compared to a slyer. Testing was done by Annaise in a controlled environment and using "good enough" rotations. Top des ST DPS was Choppa and best of all was Slayer

Edit: I think Slayer was AOE spec since that really was the best one for everything (ST and AOE)

Edit3: WLs did surprisingly well in these tests and also had a significant raw ST DPS advantage to Maras. Yeah yeah I know it was a static target and as soon as something moves kitten gets lost

Like Luth wrote above you Bozzax.
What good brings me tons of DPS on a Choppa if a Marauder has 309723070x more utility, surviveability and more solo-kill potential (in group) as any Choppa? Damn he even can be as tanky as a 2hand Archetype-Tank or even tankier.

Edit for you: A good Melee class is not simply defined through its DPS.(Exagerated example) Its like having a healer with 8k Groupheals. He CAN heal for 8k, but how many times can he use that sh*t, when he gets 2 shot by everything? Its useless to have stuff that you cannot use at all given circumstances without any drawbacks.
Marauder in that case simply has NO drawbacks at all.

Mara is lacking a groupheal and guard. Maybe this can be fixed later.
