Hello,
all i say now is my personal opinion and do not reflect the opionion from the staff or the attitude from the staff.
There are several threads who circling about the same Topic. Gear vendors rvr progression new players. Even when i can say that i understand certain points, i need to say i think that the current attitude from some Players are in my eyes a bit overreact.
Yes the current state of the game is very grind focused. But this is only t1. With every new tier the focuse change more and more to rvr and pvp in general. Rvr sets, rvr weapons vendors who sell rvr jewelry. I think we should not waste our limited menpower to change the grind focus in t1 to an working rvr focus and that brings me direct to the next Point.
When we now add vendors who sell stuff. People who grind a lot in the past will complain. When we add vendors for t1 gear and don`t do the same for t2-t4 People will complain that we don`t do it for t2-t3. I am sure that the only Thing that change will be the kind of complains.
The next Point is the gear Progression. Aza and nal pointed this already very good. People need some Kind of Progression because they will be bored very fast if there is nothing.Sure there are other Players who think the game starts first when they have all... good gear... high rr and Level. But the time give me the lessons that this kind of players are the minority.
Another Point i read again and again is that new Players get roflstomped from Players with good gear and who played a long time. Yes that is right but this is really a basic Point from Warhammer online. You will have this problem in every tier. You have this Problem in every mmorpg i know and i can not imagen that this will be changed.
I will not denial that there is a big level & gear gap with all the Level 11 stuff and jewelry. But in my opinion this Problem is only intense because there is no t2. If we had another state of the game with for example t2 the most Players would not grind the equip because after Level 12 they are fast in t2.
And i am very sure we will have this Problem in t2 again and t3 and at least in t4. You all know how it was when a Player with rr80 and full gear fights against a new Player with rr40 and rr 40 gear. This it how it goes.
Don`t get me wrong i don`t say that this never change. I also have some ideas about this. But i just want to say that we should not waste our time now for this Kind of Problems because in t1-t3 it is only a temporarily Problem.
ps. sorry for the wall of text

Really big thanks to People who do this. Be nice to new Players help them when you could that is beside the dev Progress the biggest Thing that help us to make this Project to a success.

Re: Some thoughts on the economy of the game
Yes stating that players being philanthropic is the solution is not correct however like col said having vendors who can atleast give out gear as good as gale is key at the current player level to help players be competitively viable on ever toon I have created I had noticed a large jump in effectiveness in sc's once I hit 9 and could equip gale and now in the current situation on the ah a lot of classes don't even have gear for example chosens don't even have any helms on the ah bar lvl 13 helms
However all this complaints about gear, this vendor gear solution we only need it for t1 after t1 the best gear has ALWAYS been rvr gear (bar some classes that need tyrants) which is why I feel adding vendors in t1 to resolve the gear issue is perfectly feasible because nagol said that fixing item drop rates will take a while their fore that why I feel vendors are a nice stop gap measure, mythic never intended for players to stay in t1 and that why gear is so poorly balanced but right now we in ror are hard capped at 12 and most players treat it as exactly that

Re: Some thoughts on the economy of the game
SigmarPriest pointed things out pretty well, and if we continue that point of view I think after T2 will be unlocked, the situation will be a LOT better, because new players will have T1 and they can experience the start of the game as they want and will have kind of balanced pvp, since there won't be overgeared people at level 12, and veterans and people who decided to stay will have T2 to farm, grind and maximalize their characters.
The current issue is the lack of content so to say, or more like, we are too crowded in T1 ^^ So we can't wait for T2 to come out, it will be amazing.

And people seem to forget that the now geared players also started at 0.SigmarPriest wrote: Another Point i read again and again is that new Players get roflstomped from Players with good gear and who played a long time. Also erst mal zu dir Sigmar...
Es war nur eine Idee ob sie Praktikabel ist oder nicht das müsst ihr entscheiden
Und sicher geb ich gear und gold usw an neue spieler
Habs schon Dana geschrieben.
And to you TenTonHammer you just wrote out of the bottom of my Heart

Problem is that the current Bolster isnt as functional as it _should_ be. Thats also a (if not The) reason why lowies get rekt so hard.Colephis wrote:

Re: Some thoughts on the economy of the game
My suggestions were addressed mainly as a solution for the gold and medallions duping issues, not so much to the inequality between twinks and lowbies, although that is an important matter to me also. Sigmarpriest has reminded us something which is very sensible and which gives me a lot of assurance that the current economy problems of the game, which are delaying the coming of new features in the game, will be solved very quickly. As level cap is gradually raised, RvR sets will be more and more complete, including helm shoulders cloak and RVR jewels (actually jewels are present now as rewards for RvR influence, only influence is still in a shaky shambling stage). Progression will be there, farming will be there, but now killing players, taking BO's, in sieges and skirmishes in the lakes. Hopefully we'll reach a stage when ther will be no point in mass-duping medallions or gold as the RvR sets are free from the contingencies of greed, speculation and cheating. You want the best gear? OK, you can earn it, contributing to your realm's victories. As a reward you will get competitive stuff at an attainable gold cost, stuff that you won't be able to sell or buy. YOur own earned stuff in a game where the easy way to get stuff by duping currency has been made obsolete. You want a better RvR set? keep fighting pvp battles, just like in old WAR.
Ok OK there will be renown leechers...
