Problem with xrealm chat was it starts off light banter. Then someone takes it too far and someone gets insulted. Then someone gets suspended. Then the 'freedom of speech' brigade come along that think a privately run server is in someway a public forum etc.

When not taken too far, It was extremely entertaining and funny. One of the best aspects of RoR compared to WAR. The Golden Age of RP. Too bad people always spoil it with "zaxxed" and other stuff.

As someone that has a delusional/possibly mentally ill stalker on the server, I can tell you that the removal of x-realm say doesn't stop them - it only slows them up a bit and forces them to log onto an alt (or constanly spam emotes). However it does greatly reduce casual harassment and I completely understand why it was removed, as I imagine that it means that GM's spend a lot less time dealing the soul crushing perversity that some bad seeds come up with to insult their rivals.

That being the case, I still miss being able to tell Zaxxond that he "Zixxed when he should have Zaxxed" as well as my custom insult macro's that allowed me to call random Dwarfs "Troll humping Snotling fondlers".

It's targeted at a player just as well as a Bitterstones RP saying is targeted at a player. There's far more toxic examples you could have and should have provided than "Zaxxed" of all things.

And yes, I have had the occasional smirk when dead and someone spams Zaxxed to me. It still happens when the Xrealming Destro en masse go play the WL's on Order and I die. It's lore on the server and I would argue that it's an RP thing. It is RP. I decided.
