Interested in starting my own server for another game.

Hello, I am interested in playing this game, but I’m also a avid console player, and I seriously admire how after your game you loved died and there was no server, you took it upon yourself to start your own server so you and all your fellow fans/friends could revive your favorite game “Which shouldn’t have been shut down to begin with sense you spent your hard earned money to play it.” And I myself and others had the same experience with another game and server, and was wondering what kind of steps must be tooken or if you could point me in any kind of direction so I may be able to get my own server to play the game I loved that Epic just shut the servers off and there was still quite a active community and fan base.

I really respect and admire the effort you went through in order to continue playing the game you love, and am hoping I can do the same for the community of UT3 on PS3

A lot of the work that was done on the server started when the game was still live. If your favorite game is dead it's probably going to be impossible to get it running. Packet logging is what was used to understand how the server side was communicating with the client side. Without that being logged for every aspect of the game, it's blind guesswork to figure out what the packets even look like.

That sucks cause I see some players in a really old unreal from the original xbox and they got a server and not a lot of people on it(but when somethings good you don't need but a handful of decent players to have a blast) but the original servers for this unreal title were gone long long ago, that really sucks for me as I was excited to think its possible after, my son got Interested in this title and by seeing what you did made me so optimistic for a UT3 server again. Is trying to start a server for a massive multiplayer game as difficult as trying to start a server for a multiplayer arena shooter that has servers on steam, and I simply want to have a server on a console. Because the game is active on pc/ steam, but I prefer it on console, and there is a major fan base for it on pc as well as console.
