Class/leveling questions for a very new player

Hey all, been reading through the class forums etc and trying out new things in game for a few days but had a couple questions - mostly have played healers in other mmo’s to date but have played an dwarf IB to lvl 10 so far due to liking the thought of group support as a tank in RVR, tried out runepriest as well but casting/targeting feels a bit clunky to me so far so I’m not sure how far I would get with it. I tried warrior priest as well but are their any other classes on order side worth trying out that have that heavy group support heal/tank feel? Also, I’ve just been quest grinding PVE and it feels painfully slow, is that just the name of the game or am I doing something totally wrong? Thanks for reading and any advice is appreciated!

First, welcome to the game

Second, I wouldn't bother PvE grinding much of anything yet if you are new. The fun of this game for 90% of the playerbase is that it's RvR (large scale PvP), and that you can jump into the game with everyone else almost right off the bat. You can be level 1 and PvP, and can contribute even as a lower level character once you've figured out what's going on.

My recommendation would be to just spend your first few days/weeks/whatever trying out different characters and leveling them to 15 mostly through RvR and Scenarios. You'll fail at some, you'll have fun with some, you'll figure out the game and get a better idea of what you class or type you want to put your time into for the longer term.

Good recommendation above! Just find what class you enjoy and let the rest fall into place. I'd definitely level at least 5-15 in RvR and you'll get a good feel for the class and your potential. If you decide you don't totally love it, try something else 5-15 in RvR.

In my eyes the leveling in general is painfully slow. Don't rush to the end game, just enjoy the whole ride.

knight is extremely tanky, has the best group support in game and can even heal his group somewhat. IB is probably the trickiest tank with the worst group support
