Public scenario "Logrin's Forge" Ledge abuse.

So recently I've seen a lot of destruction players going up onto the ledges in this game to avoid getting hit by melee. This game wasn't so bad as only one player went up, however I've seen situations of 4-5 healers, casters and ranged players going up onto the ledge in order to avoid being hit by melee players... These players should be temp banned.

Go up on the ledge after them? Alternatively...detaunt/LoS them, do the objective.

There is no way up onto the ledge that I know of. There isn't a ramp, from what I've heard they get up there from the use of a bug. So unless someone is willing to punt me up there I'd have to abuse a bug. Also, It's extremely difficult to push the objective when you can't kill the enemy back line but they can kill yours because theirs is out of reach. They can also just run behind the pipes, break LOS and AOE heal..

Just another point of note, the map really sucks and needs a rework. People just go to one objective and sit there because nobody wants to give up their current objective. There should be 3 objectives (extra one in middle) or just 1 in the middle.

Just for the record: At least on Order side you can jump up there by first jumping up the barrel/wheelbarrow, so nothing bannable here.

You can't cap the point from there, just defend it for a short time unless you meet other rdps/pouncing mdps/whatever.

It's no difference from maps like Khaine's Embrace.

Bottom line: Name and shame, so exspect your post being edited.

If you still think that situation is a problem, report it on Bugtracker, maybe it will change, maybe not. It's not gamebreaking imho.

I agree on the name and shame, I have removed the screenshot but will keep it and pursue the ban. And I didn't know that you can get up on the order side. But even so whilst you can't stand on the objective. You can still cast and heal from that point, even out of line of sight. And I have to put this to you, it's not exactly practical to try and jump up there when you've got a chaos warrior hitting you. Point is it's a defensive position which for ranged classes is pretty much impervious to melee attack. Whilst the same cannot be said for an attacking group which healers and ranged dps can be attacked by the enemy melee players. This just digs into the fact that the map is going to be more of a camp fest where everyone refuses to attack the other objective till 15 mins pass and it's a draw. Not what I call fun.

If those areas were walled with an invisible wall to prevent people going on top of them, it would at the least level the playing field and make attacking an objective more viable, but the map itself is inherently flawed.

Well, no - you shouldn't pursue the ban. It's just been explained to you that it is technically possible to get up there without the use of exploits, so any further attempts from you to try and ban someone for not actually exploiting would come across incredibly petty/futile.

Now, whether or not people should be allowed to get up there? Another issue entirely.

Very well. But my stance on it is pretty obvious. It's heavily against. It should be as balanced as possible and as I've explained above, the nature of this ability to get up there invites defensive game play on a map that has already shown to make people play defensively to the point of people sitting around for the game to end after 15 mins. Now regarding it being petty, I don't think so. Desiring to seek punishment for behaviour I personally consider to be unsportsmanlike in a competitive scenario is just IMO. Again if it is allowed then this allowed behaviour is going to compound a problem that this map already has as I'm not going to want to attack an objective when firstly I'm going to have a hell of a time trying to get to their backline because they're all hiding and secondly having the disadvantage of being the force that has to attack leaving 1-2 people behind to make sure nobody backcaps while we are attacking.
