IMO the server has a number of issues that are pushing people away:
- Consistently buggy quests
- Buggy looting
- Random lag (I guess the log is full of exceptions)
- Lack of ability to sustain mass RvR on the current code
- Strict limitation to the Tier 1 SC maps
- Emphasis on farming a limited number of mobs in the cities to get rank 11 gear

Recently I have noted activity declining mostly what appear to because of issues in game
- quests have been on/off broken for around a month now
- scenarios have been totally hit/miss with a combination of problems of 'can't enter due to combat' or zoning in to find yourself at Zone 00, can't res in scenario etc..
these are events which can ruin anyone play and make him/her log off..
The team knows, they say they have not fully understood all the packets. Also they have said they haven't found anyone to help with the hardstuff because many applicants to help never panned out.
It's unfortunate that we can't help pay for expenses but that is the way it is... Maybe better way to help is to find some applicants who can actually have MMO experience or something... Maybe they will find they have some free time and money saved up for a side project.. hehe good luck

Azarael said it perfectly.. Lets be honest, last month the server pop was at an all time high..and it has been dwindling. Lag, Crashes, and constant bugs...The constant need for grinding can be a game killer in fully functional games with far larger populations. For there to be such a limited gear variation..and grind required gear on an alpha stage free server is not a good thing. I know the majority of my guild is already gone. We all love ROR, and appreciate what the Devs are doing..hope that in the coming weeks these things get sorted out.

I think any fall in population is more likely a cooling off period. When the server became playable I burnt myself out and now taking a break and will likely just come back for a few weeks each patch.

Mah, i do not know how you can have lag, i play with costantly 99 fps that someone said to be the cap and idk how about the ingame ping, but i have no lag or freezes of any kind.

The op is talking about lag on the server side, not about low fps problems on his client. These problems are also not ping related, as everyone is experiencing them atm.
e.g. positions of other players are wrong (abilities don't hit) or other players (clients) stand still for several seconds.

I completely agree. A good majority of people who have stopped playing regularly are just sitting it out for a bit. As for pushing people away; anyone who came in to an alpha expecting a feature complete game is just a bit silly imo.
