solo roam or pugging SCs = shammy

6 man or WB that either has a lot of physical dps or is lacking an aoe healdebuff = zealot for the aoe armor debuff or aoe healdebuff but shammy is still plenty good in those situations too

I run my dps shammy most of the time now, no regrets. Zealot really doesn't put out great damage, you're mostly there for the debuffs and occasional game changing Winds of Insanity if you run it IMO. Shammy also has a much easier time healing others since he doesn't get locked out of his DPS stats for 20 seconds everytime he wants to throw out a good heal, CD on Harbinger of Doom is pretty ridiculous.

Shaman is more viable over all, unless you love doing something different and want to be one of the few damage zealots running around. I enjoy my zealot a lot more, although I feel like shaman is superior in the damage department by a good margin.

Tried to level a zealot especially for the purpose of debuffing (little bit of dps) and healing.

After some levels i realised: with harbringer mechanic you just can't do that. Cause you have no int and no useful mechanic to counter disrupts without harbringer.

It totally locks you in either heal or dps min-maxing gear- and renown-wise.

Never realised that mechanic sucks that hard allthough it has a good intention, making zealot more independent of specidic gear sets.

In WB zealot is only healer that are good as dps, when we run wb we always run dps zealot. Need at least rr60 for it to work.
Smallscale and solo i would pick the shaman

Puddle is amazing in WBs, being able to spam charged AoE heals whenever needed has helped my WB out plenty (there are tons of times I end up being the only "healer" in my grp in a pug WB and still manage to do a decent job of keeping them up) and if you've never seen how effective Gork's Barbs + Morks Touch on a good target is you should check it out, it has the potential to hit 80+ times I believe, can proc stuff like frozen touch and covenant of vitality, and strip blessing 25% of the time all for 1 GCD. Some classes really appreciate the aoe elemental debuffs as well. I feel plenty "good" running my dps shammy in WBs, but yeah like I said zealot has the advantage if you need the debuffs.
