Authentication Failed/Login Timeout

been trying to fix this a while. I download the game using utorrent, make a copy of the file and put it onto another drive separate from the Utorrent shared file. I get the patcher (launcher.exe) and replace it in the file folder, r click the file and properties and change all files to read only (or untick the box) apply it to all sub folders and files and then start the launcher up. it downloads updates for the game and then allows me to connect. I get to the main menu and the box on the right is black and after 10 seconds I get Authentication failed error message. I click ok, and the box on the right on the main menu now says login timeout.

I also tried these methods: change my I.P Address, set up port forwarding, allowed through my firewall, relogging in over and over to see if it worked, ran as administrator, made sure I had full access to the folders and files and re downloaded the torrent 4 times in case of corrupted data, changed my password, ran through opera vpn (or tried as I have 0 knowledge on the subject) & created a whole new account...so many things I have tried and some I haven't posted because I forgot, there was that many suggestions to try. I'm hoping there is someone out there who can give me some idea as to what is going on. Playing on a wired connection btw.

couple of things to try if you have not already.

a: any special characters in your password '!"$%' etc. : In forum change password and try launcher again

b: within windows, create a new 'local' windows account. login using that and run the launcher.

Well, It's been a while but i thought i would try this whole process again to find a solution on a fresh windows install. After all my efforts, same situation exactly all over again :/. Launcher connects, i get the title screen with music. To the right is a black empty box and after about 10 seconds, Critical error: Authentication something or other... terminates the program. Have you tried connecting your computer directly to your modem and bypassing your router? I know that wouldn't be a permanent solution if it worked, but it might help you isolate the problem. I've been having the same issue and I am beginning to think that there is some firewall specifically on my router that I do not have control over, so I am going to try this myself when I get home and see if it works.

Have you made sure to allow the program through your firewall? I was having similar issues, but allowing it through gave me the right connection messages in the black box.
