You need the RoR launcher to play the game. You can download it from the link in the client topic.

Put that launcher inside the game folder (make sure you put war.exe back in the folder). Then make a shortcut of RoR Launcher (if you want). Use that to load the game.

yep did all that, I had put war on the desktop cause one of the error messages told me it couldn't find it on the desktop then after more reading I put the launcher in the game folder created a shortcut ect. I'm to the point that i can load the game but no server or character creation buttons. Some one had posted that their data.myp was corrupted and comparing to mine i believe mine is too. He was having the same problem. So if I can just get the uncorrupted file I should be good to go. but really don't want to redownload the whole thing.

Why hello there, I downloaded the game through the torrent link, then downloaded and copied the launcher into the download folder, but the game does not start for me, with an error message popping up instead whenever i press Connect. Now I have of course seen the thread with the library repair-whatever thingy, but whenever I try to download the required files through the AdFly-link, I get a Network Failure error from Chrome. I tried downloading them with MegaDownloader, but the AdFly links seem to be incompatible because it just can't download them. I wonder if there's any other download link where I could get the required files from?

Right click on the WAR folder and select Properties. Make sure "Read Only" is NOT checked

Well guys, quite honestly i have not a single idea about what i've done differently this time, but the game starts up now, with an error message still popping up, but WAR.exe gets started, however when it enters the menu i have the buttons Cinematic, Credits, Settings and Quit, and nothings else can be seen. Any idea what this means?

The game doesn't launch whether its installed from CD or by the client you provide.

No matter where the EXEs are they are either not found or get an error when attempting to launch.

And why is it even looking for files on the desktop. Who installs games to their desktop?

Because you're doing something wrong.

First off, game off DVD won't work, as it's the incorrect version and you won't be able to update it to the latest version (which is needed).

There's no installation required. Just download the game via the direct downloads or torrent. Once you have the game, and extracted it to your desired location, you download the Return of Reckoning launcher. Put the launcher inside the game folder, and run that launcher each time you want to play.

Hey. I downloaded the game via torrent link. I downloaded the RoRLauncher, but when I start it it gives me
".Net Framework Initialization Error"
To run this application you must first install
v.4967856something something of the
.Net Framework
Contact your application publisher for instructions and yadda yadda

I unchecked "Read Only", Ran as admin, disabled Firewall but still get the same ****. Any ideas? I have zero clue what
.Net Framework is or what its for
