Hey fellas, I just got into the game, and have been a long time fan of the Warhammer universe, but I'm still within my first couple of hours in RoR. Through my ~3 hours of playing so far, I've gotten to experience some decent RvR, a couple of scenarios, and of course the occasional PvE. Already I can tell that big scale RvR is the thing that I have the most interest in. Coming from WoW, I haven't really seen anything like it. I've heard a couple of negative(ish) things about pug RvR (mostly it being a little bit clumpy and zergy), and have aspirations to play in organized RvR once I reach max rank. However, being a new player, and with a lot of the gameplay and gearing mechanics being foreign to me, I'm worried that I'll have a hard time finding a guild(or the RoR equivalent, not sure of the name) to join, particularly if I am playing a well-represented class.
Essentially, my question is; Are there any beginner friendly(not necessarily face roll easy, but nothing that requires a strong grasp of the game) classes that are also in high demand in organized RvR to possibly make me finding a guild a little more easy?
I mained a Restoration Druid in WoW for the past couple of years if that provides any context, and I'm not opposed to healing, but my WoW experience was much more PvE heavy than PvP, so I am unfamiliar with healing in a RvR situation.(not that I'm unwilling to learn though)
Thanks in advance!
Also any major dos or do nots for a beginner in RoR would be greatly appreciated as well

Re: High Demand Classes?
If big organized RvR is your thing then the classes you want are mostly healy healers, tanky tanks, and aoe dps. Easy tank would be Choosen/Kotbs, their mechanic is basically set and forget so you can focus on normal tank stuff instead of managing an extra resource. Healers are all good, pick whichever one has the playstyle you enjoy the most. Dps get the advantage of not having to worry about a defensive target which can definitely make them easier to play well IMO. Big fights are all about aoe and most dps classes can at least do decent at it. Out of the classes I've played the easiest to do well with in a good WB would be Choppa/Magus (magus can literally just spam firestorm and be crazy effective, and choppa just rushes in head first spamming aoe and has a great time) but plenty of good options. Also this game is a lotta fun for altoholics so don't worry about choosing the perfect class right now, learning what other classes are capable of by playing them will make you a much better player so none of your time spent playing them is really wasted IMO.
Destro: Chompy, ShroomStew, TrollBlood, DoomBeast, DoomDoctor, DoomDisk, Doomshadow, FunkFoot, Bloodwell
Order: Stormwall, Mistfall, CatNap, BoomRune, Bangman

Re: High Demand Classes?
Healing wise the rune priest or the zealot are going to come the closest to restoration druid's HoTs, instant casts, and kite play style.
Warhammer healing is more about triage than powerful heals. Unlike wow, in war they can murder a teammate without ccing the healer. So the job is more about keeping your team up long enough for your team to kill their team.
Tanks in organized warbands end up being extremely active with guard swaps, challenge rotations and positioning. But great tanks are of the highest demand in order side. I do not know about destro side's organized guild needs.
Knight of the blazing sun would be the type of tank you'd want to start with on order since it is the simplest to start with and be effective. Don't worry there more you would get to master about the role later.
As for dps, bright wizards and skaters are order warband dps. But they need good group support and may prove difficult to level for a brand new warhammer player.
If you have a friend or two, bring them with you. This game is a lot more fun with people you like to game with.

Warrior Priest or Rune Priest healers.
I'm not going to tell you what Destro needs because frankly there are already too many destro players.

Re: High Demand Classes?
I'd say that Destro needs is in need of Healers or Rdps classes, especially Magus.
We have a big overflow of Tanks and Mdps atm.

They done stole my character's names. Can't have **** in RoR.
Re: High Demand Classes?
And yet there are at least 3 healers on destros team in every single scenario at all hours of the day, whereas order is lucky to get even one.Nefarian78 wrote: Wed May 16, 2018 12:49 am I'd say that Destro needs is in need of Healers or Rdps classes, especially Magus.

Re: High Demand Classes?
tank is good to start. any tank.
you'll learn the class and game at same time.
after being used to game you can pick your desired class if you're not a tank type.

Re: High Demand Classes?
I actually started a spreadsheet wherein I record healer numbers for every single scenario that I'm in, and I play during both prime times (depending on the day). Yes, I'm that autistic.DokB wrote: Wed May 16, 2018 3:35 amHard to argue with this anecdotal evidence, when will this destro bias end!?!?Spoiler:
