I've been looking to get back into this game as I loved it when it was first released, despite the fact that I had no idea what I was doing and that I played a Choppa at 40 haha.
I've been looking into Tanking and Healing a little bit, more specifically BO/BG and Shaman/DoK. I was wondering if I could get some insight into a few things.
For the tanking side of it, as I understand, both BO and BG are good Tanks and can go the 2her route but it seems the consensus on that is that outside of a very specific comp in a 6 man roamer squad you would be better off playing an actual melee dps. How true is that? And further to that how does the Sword and Board guard buddy play style feel? Is it fun to play or do you feel like you aren't putting out much pressure at all? I suppose a run down into the feel of tanking in end game pvp and how it works would be appreciated.
As for the healing side of it despite some threads it seems shaman is an ok healer and DoK seems to have been nerfed so some feel it is less useful, but they both seem to be outclassed by the Zealot? Mainly due to the Shamans WAAAGH system being a bit iffy for a healer. I suppose I just wanted some clarification on how end game healing would be, does it feel like you make a difference as a healer or is it more frustrating? Also how viable DPS Healer DoK is, I assume that it's ok for solo and some 6 man squads but not for anything passed that.
Sorry if any of these assumptions are wrong, I've only had a little look around the forums and I'm sure some of what I have read is just hyperbole. Feel free to point me to any threads that might already answer my questions
