Noblesse Oblige

There is an old saying, Noblesse Oblige. It means that there is an obligation to privilege and, in a wider sense, an obligation to offer respect in return for it.

Recent events have shown a decline in respect of late, from all parties. I do not write this post to condemn, point fingers or "**** post" but out of a real concern for our community.

All of us here are guests, we do not pay to play RoR. The staff extend to us the privilege to take part in thier hard work. They could just as easily create an invitation only server. We have no right or entitlement to play this game.

On the flipside, this game requires a certain number if players to work properly and therefore the staff do need us, to a certain extent.

Make no mistake, on peak times we have nearly a thousand players and the regular posters on this forum are a fraction of that

The staff ARE interested in our opinions but only so far as to assist them in thier decidion making, our opinions hold no weight and we have no voice to determine or change policy. We do not contribute to the work or funding of this project and get a truly free to play game in return.

The basic problem is the lack of respect shown to the staff in these forums and to each other.

I would humbly suggest we, as a community, stop being such a bunch of self-rightous, self-entitled trolls and work togethet to grow and develop respect through proper, pilote didcussion.

I guarantee we'll see more respect and interest from the staff to our opinions.

If you got anything of this thread, please make it the fact that you should not read that manhwa, it sucks.

We really don't need to have a conversation about this. The forum rules favor the staff in every situation. If you're not comfortable with that and feel the urge to post trash or fight with us, expect to lose.
