Now that i think about it...


Loser gets 5 emblems? What is stopping people from forming random groups, not give a *** about strategies, and just Q those SCs? I can picture a lot of people grouping up and just semi-AFKing those SCs.

Its amazing how the best, true and only way to play the game needs to have incredibly boosted rewards for people to bother with it at all.

And that is a risk, hence why I mentioned reporting such perpetrators. No matter how I spin it, there will always be that element of risk; there's no 2 ways about it. I just don't think it's fair to punish the majority for the actions of a small minority (we know the community, we've been here a long time, how many people can we honestly see doing this with a group of 5 friends willing to risk getting punished?)

I trust that 99% of groups would report people that do this. Let's have at least some faith in our fellow human beings!

The reason why I suggested emblems is that it's the easiest thing to do. Increasing renown has problems, such as those already mentioned, as well as the fact that it would probably start to infringe upon RvR (why are people getting more renown in SC than they do in RVR? What's the point of doing RVR if I wish to level my renown quicker? etc.). My intent is to not infringe upon RvR, or to force RvR players to have to adapt to a gameplay they may not necessarily like - just to make as much RR.

In regards to 15 being too high, I must disagree: given the costs of Dominator and the SC 45 Weapons, the effort and hassle it takes in forming a group to get on comms, the prevalence of constant pug scenarios that net a constant stream of medals, the fact that EC/Isha quite often last the distance, and the fact that Isha/EC can't be used reliably as a means of consistent emblem gain whatsoever, forcing premades to effectively 'farm pugs'....I feel 15/5 is a very fair suggestion.

Giving the losing side 1 emblem would only keep things as they are: groups would not be motivated to carry on trying, knowing that they are, essentially, getting nothing for their troubles.

I hear what you're saying, but why not give it a shot? I think it would substantially increase the amount of people who group up and try to win. Peter is kinda right in that most of the hardcore 6mans already have BiS gear, and when you have an influx of people queueing 6mans, you might see a lot more similarly skilled groups go head to head rather than a one sided stomp which sometimes happens.

If it does become an issue, where you have 6mans just afk queueing, could a system be developed to give quitter debuffs for 6mans who don't try?

Seems kinda counter intuitive to what peter is proposing; this would just mean that no one wants to enter an sc for fear of getting stomped, and you continue a cycle where hardcore 6mans never have any competition, and no one ever wants to face the already established groups.
