Why, when players that are ALREADY logged in become aware there's action that more of their respective side is converging, especially when it's a re-action to lop sided balance finding equilibrium; are the most, and most vociferous, accusations of "Xrealmer" vomited out JUST AFTER YOUR RESPECTIVE SIDE HAS TURNED THE TIDE, even if short lived? And, iirc, opening day of Live, unless you purchased more than one account, and maybe spoofed IP?, that one faction was all the 'realm' you got unless deletion of every toon of opposing faction. How/why is it an insult, or an offensive act if one is playing completely within what's been and is allowed by the developers?
Secondly, is there a way/command to disallow having WB lead thrust on someone? Vets and experienced players seem to do this especially to players who don't hide that they play both factions; and I'm not referencing the "think you can do better? Then HERE!" modality, which I'm cool with, but the passing/handing over lead MID battle to anyone who openly plays both sides, and has experience/reputation as a competent leader if they've been even remotely helpful/motivating? I'm not referencing dill holes who tell all who'll listen about how 'bad' a WB leader is; they ougtta be made lead at login. There's a reason really good, friendly, enjoyable WB leads are difficult to find/so few in number: the player pop chews them up, spits them out, then logs the opposing faction and chews on them some more. I'm certainly NOT a valid leader; I LOVE my Marauder, have since Live debut (when Mara was THE mushroom) and I LOVE killing Order, any and all. Love to support/assist and kill all Order. However, my GF of six years, who I watched become a competent and skilled leader after Greetz (a god among WB leaders; my opinion) the SH pulled her under his wing. All the Xrealm accusations/Phantomdrake fan club bullshit placed a real downer on the game for her. Not to mention Joker's Legacy of Legends exploding back on scene when RoR opened, only to fizzle out, left her and many devoid of a sense of 'home' or 'family' we developed on live. She's barely logged 20 hours in a month for about 90 days when 10-20 hours most days was what she invested for the last 4 years. She really loves and appreciates true friends, online and off. She's but one player in a sea of many who get shite on, now from both sides... who are the same players, save a few diehard factionbois like me.
I'm not calling anyone out. She doesn't need me to. She's tougher than nails any day of the week. Tougher than me by far. But the gusto goes right out of her when, and this is typical, we're mid fight, T(X), and she attempts to assist WB lead by reiterating commands in differing channels, or opens up an overflow WB to better organize Destruction (referenced coz I only play that faction), and the "xrealmer" crap starts, followed shortly by her being handed lead WHILE mid take/defense when the overflow WB falters and she and I join the main WB, slots allowing.
Why does this bullying persist? Why do we, the playerbase abuse these goodnatured, skilled leaders like we do? And the "in crowd" B.S., which is only perpetrated by a very loud few compared to the many who are here to WAAAGH!, what place does it have, how does it improve the game at any level, and how the hell do we expect an angrier version of offensive Live Server behavior to attract new players, coz it sure as hell will NOT interest any Vets? Thanks for your time and consideration.
Good Hunting.
