Working alts into your groups

I'll start off by saying that I had a solid 3-4 week run of having a pretty good 6 man play with 1-2 players being subbed in and out and it was a freaking blast. But like all good things it has sorta fizzled out and I'm curious how other players go about working on their alts?

Do you guys "super scrub" it and put them all together?

Do you make them level/gear up outside of your group and only bring them when they are done?

Do you bring maybe 1-2 alts and let the other mains carry?

I'm sure there are a lot of different factors for this, but I've noticed that since the PVE leveling has been basically removed. Most people are leveling in RVR/SC's and it does take significantly longer on average than it used to. I'm not saying this is a bad thing (I'm not saying it is good either) - but basically it has created a situation where there are a lot more sub max level toons in the pool of characters to play with. Back in the T3 days, I had all my characters at max level, sure their RR might not have been great but at least they had all their abilities for the most part and so on. Now that dynamic has changed and you have people with less abilities, wayyyyy less gear, and AGAIN I'm not saying this is bad, just different.

So how are you guys going about this without making it super painful lol. I'd love to let some of the alt DD's in my guild jump in, but unless we have one BIS DPS in the party, nothing dies and we get rolled. If the tank is super low level/gear - he gets deleted. RDPS can sorta slide in this which is why everyone and their brother has "an alt BW/Sorc" - I digress. I'm very curious how people who actually like winning go about this as I generally don't enjoy getting stomped in SC's (I like them a lot more than RVR and spend more time in them) - thank you!!

Combination of working on it on your own time and bringing it to warband nights, for the most part. I don't think I would run scs with a sub-40 if we were looking for emblem farming, though. At that point, you gotta make it a point to get to 40 and base level gear.

True. I don't think I've been in a warband in months. Aside from a few fights when I was in phalanx, it is the most mindless amoeba playstyle of any game I've ever been a part of lol. BUT some people like it as it is relaxing 99% of the time and you get to bomb which is always fun.

When we bring lowbies into sc and roam groups we focus on ensuring individuals in the group understand the limitations of the lower level class, in terms of tactics and abilities available so we all know what to expect. I will que scenarios that play to our grps strengths, if range then open maps and so on. While most of the leveling of a lowbie is put on players to do it in off hours to get as close to 40, I try to make an effort to help get to 31+ but pve leveling as stated is rough.

In addition, the new lowbie player ends up maximizing the strengths of the class. For example, range have generally 100ft. So use it, be situationally aware and move before the dps even get close even if you lose dps output for that short period.

A similar point with healers, maximising your defensive attritubes enables you to last longer than just being looked at by a dps, however, as a guildie of mine put it, "if a dps touches you as a healer, your doing it wrong", solid advice to live by.

Tanks are a similar story, build defensive until a reasonable level of gear. I am lucky that I play in a time zone with a lack of premades so leveling alts and bringing them in is easier than EU and NA time.

Why does pve leveling is dead? Just find people similar to your own level, pull a lot mobs and aoe kill them. Works like a charm. You just don't have the shortcut of fully geared rank 40 helping you until your rank is like 35+.
Dying is no option.

This may be fine for EU, but during NA it can be incredibly difficult to find even a few other players around your level that want to pve farm.
