[Disciple of Khaine] General Use

My wife is making a foray into the world of Warhammer and decided to pick up playing a DoK because of a love of doing damage and healing - she's gotten a little tired playing the Mercy-type characters recently.

Is there a general use type build floating about? I admit I took a peek through some of the threads but didn't quite understand most of the acronyms and what was being said as I'm both new to Destruction and haven't played DoK at all.

Thank you for any help you might provide. I appreciate it.

if u and your wife want to enjoy playing DOK go Healing!! Many are saying the heal suck at lower tiers but it get much better as u level up. if u go healing theres only one way to do it.
.... ->Path of Dark Rites. for your renown rank tree

Make a good use of your detaunt and slot armor tali in your\her gear. Be aware of your surrounding and the rest will come naturally... DOK are awesome at grp healing and putting good numbers on the board but not every DOK can keep their grp\party alive. Make sure u HoT(Heal Over Time) your party member at all time and use Khaine's invigoration & Khaine embrace for the big heal!!

If she want to go DPS spec well time for you to roll a tank and guard her. this "can" be fun too.... "can" be fun.. ( I never play DPS on DOk and i never will)

Its certainly not a complet guide but i hope it gives you some good info.

First I just gotta say that dps dok is not the easiest thing to pull off succesfully, and you need pretty high renown rank to get the appropriate -crit chance, crit and avoidances. The good part is that you can gear up everything outside jewellery in scenarios. 3 mercenary, 3 dominator and at least 2 genesis and you got a decent thing going, and slot either strenght or weponskill for talismans, not sure which would be better after the avoidance patch. Beastlord can be done for cloak/jewel, but I find it kinda meh even with the WS bonus as it lacks strength.

One thing to note is that the dok needs a guard in all circumstances, and duoing with a tank in lakes/pug sc is really fun.

As for the build, this works at RR40: http://www.ror.builders/career/disciple ... 08,5015&t=

Very nice info. I appreciate it a ton.

If she were to simply just play an actual healer due to the commitment and difficulty, what would be a build she should run as a healer?

Davis said Path of Dark Rites, but I wouldn't know anything more than that. Seems most of the builds don't just dump everything into one tree, haha.

I really appreciate you guys' help and she does, too.

Something like this is completely fine, any points outside dark rites would just be spent to increase covenant damage until you get higher RR where you can start testing healdebuff for example in healspec.

Path of Sacrifice is melee heal tree.
it's mostly single target heal. hard to heal group.
anyone who succeeds in melee DoK had a tank duo for Guard ability. it's reducing 50% dmg.
you need to play tank for her or melee DoK won't work.
staying in front line to melee heal makes her vulnerable to melee and range dps.
everyone will try to kill melee healer because it's easy target.

your team won't be kind to her.
prepare a lot of shittalks. noobs die and blame healers. specially when it's melee healer. seriously she will face tons of hate from team and enemy.
hope you overcome these and enjoy game.

Don't ever think about playing melee heals, it's either full out dps or healer, at the moment dok simply can't pull off melee healing against anything but below average pugs.

You need to play hybrid even as healer else you got no chance keeping up. Theres no such thing as backline healer when playing DoK/WP.

You need to be able to use Transfer Essence when someone get focused or else you run out of resuorces. If you start channeling Blood Offering the target will die. Its also the best heal you have when someone's healdebuffed and burried with debuffs.

Full healing includes hybrid playstyle. It takes some time getting used to playing a healer like this but its the best performance you gonna get out of the classes and very engaging and fun when you get used to it.

Is that so?

RoR.builders - Disciple of Khaine

It requires an off-meta rr spec and a mix of anni, conq, and ruin (if you dont have full conq) but it most certainly is possible to have a successful hybrid melee build.
