As a person who plays all the tanks, I want to make an addendum for the Melee DPS players out there. Tank's do not have both charge and flee. When you go charging off one way to kill someone and then immediately flee another to kill someone, a tank cannot keep up. When you go out of guard range without your tank, the tank isn't at fault because he didn't keep up. He simply can't. We only get one speed increase and once it's blown you need to be mindful of your tanks position just as he should always be aware of the person he is guarding. Also, while the main assist should almost always be the melee dps, the tank who is guarding the main assist makes a great secondary shot caller. We may not kill stuff on our own, but some of us do understand the game well enough to make a call. The Main Assist should still be able to assist off of someone and that someone should be the one guarding him. And tanks, if your group likes you calling shots as a secondary assist one thing is very important. Call the target, but don't abandon your main assist. He may still be hitting someone. Let him confirm the target switch because while he might be assisting off you, no one else is if he doesn't switch.Dalgrimar wrote:A mdps should never follow the tank for guard.

Correct.
It is far easier for an Mdps to get somewhere. Slayer Charge or WL pounce. While it is harder for an tank to keep the speed up. The IB has his juggernaut.
But it is on a 1 min cooldown. While charge on the Slayer is on a 30 sec cooldown.
In a military convoy the slowest vehicle drives first, because the faster ones behind can use their speed to react to situations and then can use their speed to catch up.
It is the same if you lead a warband and use the fast mount. If everyone is slower or at the same speed like you they will snake automatically. Or you need to stop every 2 mins.
Because the ones following you aren't faster than you and can't reduce the space between you and them.

Understand that you don’t have to smash your W key and Braveheart charge. Use your range finders on enemy. If you are more than 100ft from your healers, then stop pushing. Swap guard as needed.
And for all that is holy, pay attention to LoS and don’t kite AWAY from your tanks/healers.

To tank in PuG :
1- Learn which PuG dps players don't suck. Get in their group and guard them.
2- Don't worry about level 32 BW without potions that just found out he has close Quarters. 3- Only swap guard if a GOOD healer is in trouble or the good dps guy dies.
4- Don't use your root in Tor Anroc.

I would contribute towards a cash incentive for everyone, regardless of skill levels, to make, roam and queue in 6 mans in comms exclusively. PUG players should be shunned. Except volgo, he's aight.
