The direction in which server moves with core mechanics is usually agreed by leads, that would be Torquemadra, Natherul and wargrimnir currently.

Maybe you should run supplies too, while they are still in game :).
Read closer, I can place 1st but extremely unlucky with rolls making the RNG so damn painful ^^ A bit of the issue is that even if your party contributes 1000 times more than the next party, the system would still give them a too big chance to surpass you in the rng roll.

Oh that's good then, for a minute I thought Torques idle threats of shitting on the way gear medallions drops was more then idle trolling.

OT. All gear in the game should drop from a token system. Pointless hiding rvr gear behind 100% rng. Rng is a nice bonus. Right now, with an actual work schedule, 3 kids, **** to do... I have pretty much no chance of seeing Genesis items or BL items. Unless I happen to be part of a zone lock in the 10 hours a week I get free.

And that's something you simply have to sacrifice. It took me months to get conq, and even longer to get full genesis. But you know what? I simply didn't care. You don't need genesis, there are plenty of different accessories that can help you in your builds. And as we can see, there will be even more accessory sets introduced some day, that you can get by doing quests. Same goes for subjugator weapons. I only ever got the shield, and I'm happy with that. I don't need those weapons to be effective.

I agree that dupes in bags are completely stupid, and don't agree that this game needs an rng system like that. Out of 5 gold bags that I got, only one piece that I could use. I basically bought the entire set. Most people would probably quit the game by then, but I play cuz of friends, and to have fun. When it stops being fun, I will quit as well. But the problem for this server is that not many people have this mindset. We in our guild developed a little family of our own, and not everyone does that, or wants that. People these days (especially younger) don't play for social reasons, but personal, and not seeing much progress in the two weeks you play easily turns them off. This is something devs have to decide on, and already have.

There is no merits to the RNG system, even in Live it got changed short after release because its just frustrating.

Even here people beg for it to be gone and every time we get it again for no other reason that someone being hellbeint in making it like that because who knows why. Making obtaining gear more obnoxious and time wasting than live is something i will never understand about this server, it started because people were getting geared too fast in t2 and we we losing population because of that and now its the exact opposite, is the grindy aspect of gear what is turning people off playing the game.

But if Live and all the complaints here didnt make them understand it, took months for them to put tokens into ruin,i dont think anything will work, they like it this way and players will have to suffer for it.

Just look at genesis and things like that, BiS gear in a pvp game hidden extreme RNG, we already sold our souls to the devil here.

Torquemadra wrote:what you want is to have your cake and eat it. Absolutely no token system is needed because what you want is already fulfilled by medal drops and the fact you can take the 'tokens' from the bag anyway. Your bags are your lottery, you have to be in it to win it and should you do so then whoo hoo, free stuff. RNG isnt going anywhere.

White bags have imperious set warrants which are certainly ok stuff from what should be junk bags and blues have empowered warrants which are decent stuff.
No, i don't "want to have my cake and eat it" i don't even play RvR that much so i don't care about it one way or another. That's just completely wrong. What i want (and many in this thread too) is the removal of RNG because i think it's best for any MMO. especially the ones i love like RoR.

I've already asked this to you once, and you completely ignored me, even if it's a totally legitimate question. Why do you keep defending Rng, every step of the way?

Half of the community sees it as frustrating, bad, not rewarding and the other half sees it as a sacrifice that needs to be made, for their own reasons. Both opinions are negative.

Yet, here you are always defending your "Lottery" as you called it. Even after the massive amount of negative feedback it CONSTANTLY receives every day, both on the forums and in-game. My entire guild and friend list quitted because of RnG, Entire MMOs died because of it, and many are dieing because of it today, like Swtor. Commando Crates or whatever they were called is the last nail in the coffin for that game. Immediatly after it was announced gearing was rng more than half of my server quit.

WoW did the same thing then immediatly made so that gear doesn't have an impact in PvP, after the massive backlash it received.

Everywhere you look Rng has only caused troubles for MMOs, there isn't a single instance of a PvP based MMO that thrived under heavy RNG in it's gearing process. Or in anything at all.

IIRC this project was made to bring back WAR and create a newer, modern, BETTER version of it. The entire server made incredible bounces in the class balance and many other departments, yet here we are stuck with an ancient system everyone hates, that has lead to the death of many MMOs. (WAR was among them). I always feel like that when there's a discussion about RNG, all of our feedback just gets ignore or falls on deaf ears because of unknown reasons.

RNG rewards have some merits aswell.

It make sure not only the stongest, moast hardcore players and no-real-lifers gets all the rewards (since there is a limited amount of it in every zone take).

Making everything a token based grind system is also unequal fun in the sence that not ereyone have all the time in the world to play video games as you would need to increase the token prizes to keep the strongest, hardcore and no-lifers keep playing.

Tbh, i never like the reward system in this game. Better gear for more time invested in a moastly PVP based game is extremly bad game design imo. It works well and all for PVE but not for PVP.

Non power based rewards like banners and apearances and speecial animation FX is good PVP rewards. The PVP gear should be baught for gold from a vendor imo.

I agree with you, Gear in a pvp absed MMO should be easy to acquire, not with gold, but with a currency gained trough pvp tho,Skill does the rest. But, you need to keep in mind this is a private server of a dead game. A system like that works on active MMOs where new content keeps getting released.

You can't do that here because if the gear is too easy to obtain, then everyone will leave complaining there's nothing to do. After playing a while with their new toys ofc. Now the server is having the opposite. A middle ground needs to be found, in t2-3 gear was too easy to get and was driving players away, now the RNG and the medal grind is. I personally found that Merc - Annhi was the best spot for the Gear grinding we had on the server. I haven't seen a single thread complaining about the grind being too easy/hard when we had Merc-Annhi.

I'm also confident that when the game is more stable and less buggy, cosmetics rewards will be added. Maybe making the armored mounts purchaseable with Scs/RvR emblems? Who knows, there are many possibilities with cosmetics.

But we will continue to piss on the ideas that are presented like they're something new and revolutionary. Unfortunately, a handful of old players like to beat their favorite dead horse, which inspires new players to come up with genius ideas and what-ifs that we've already rolled our eyes about.
