Is WP dps viable?

Volgo doesn't play his, and I haven't seen Sweet in a while... so that makes it 0

I miss Sweet teling everyone how great melee wps were because there was this one time he got attacked by 3 people and he killed two before dieing.

Just in case anyone misses it, Sweet was never good neither are melee wps.

Viable for solo roaming? Yes.
Viable in a group? Vs FOTM stuff? Not really.
VS what RoR currently has in the form of active groups? It is more than viable. Just play with a group and ensure you have an armor debuff.

We should start a conversation regarding what it would take to better flesh out the wrath toolkit. I see the biggest issue being our Mandatory 2 tactics + our melee toolkit (and lack thereof). There is nothing a wrath WP can do better than another melee class, we should be able to provide more utility to a melee train.

Maybe an ability that would change Willpower and healing crit to Strength and melee crit (like a toggable aura), and/or reduce healing by 20-40% while increasing damage dealt, crit chance, and parry. (combining Fanatacism and Divine Fury into an active ability).

What are your thoughts? What do you think is the most important first step in making wrath WP viable?

Pretty sure Wrath WP can heal better than other melee classes. They also bring the only 50% Curse inc hd on order, uncleansable by Doks.

It might not be able to replace a WL or WH in a melee train, but it can work for different setups. Don't ask me which ones though But if you really think about it, there MIGHT be one out there. To me, the reason why some classes are good/OP is because they fit in perfectly in any setup, while those classes that seem to be bad/UP require a very specific one.

We talked about this too much already but as long as tank, healer and dps roles exist, he will have to find his niche into one of them, the idea of "well he does half the damage but he also heals so it makes up for it" doesnt work in this game.

Either he is a dps or he is a healer, sure he can do a bit of the other on the side but if he wants a dps role, he needs to do the damage other viable dps do, giving him buffs for the group doesnt work if that buffs dont make up for it and if they do, people will just run them as healers while giving those buffs or any other cheese.

If he wants to be a dps, he needs to burst people like other dps do, thats pretty much it.

Anyone else think its strange that Absence of Faith is a 5ft range, in the DPS tree, and doesnt actually do any damage? I know that can actually be for the best in some situations due to people having higher block/parry then disrupt.

It would just be nice to have another damage ability in the wrath tree for the rotation.

What EVERYONE fails to see is that the tree like dps on healers, was only their for the class to be able to do quest and help it as the mobs got harder in regards with PVE content. Trying to make it something more than that will break the class. This game was released in the trinity era for mmo's not some hybrid I can do anything WOW class.

That said players always find a way to make things "seem" viable by putting up content of overgeared spec beating slightly less geared players or players of less skill.

The class will not and should never be able to out dps a class with 3 spec dedicated to damage.

I highly doubt that they designed this class tree with just solo PVE'ers in mind, in a PVP MMO. DPS AM does plenty of damage, but like you said, it was probably designed for solo PVE'ers right?

The spec should have a chance of out Damaging MDPS by staying alive longer then they can, as a 1/3 of our toolkit is melee healing abilities.
