Hi there,

Could you reopen my post as it was closed without any proper reason:

I asked for the person who has my name from a Character that YOU guys deleted for, in my eyes, no reason. If you think the reason is valid that is fine though I do not need to share that opinion.

I have asked politely and I have stated my reasons so there was no reason from your side to close my post with the given reply as I followed all the rules of the forums. And I was told by a GM in game to make this post.

So unless Elven is the person who owns the name, I think he has no reason to close my post and therefore I kindly request to reopen my forum post so I can find the person who took my name so I can reason with him/her.

To what end?

It's not going to be replied to, the character in question is rank 2, and the player who has it probably isn't active considering none of his characters are rank 40. We're certainly not in the business of freeing up character names for any reason, and certainly not because it's really badly wanted. Your best bet is to wait for another character wipe which could be quite a while into the future, or come to terms that entitlement means absolutely nothing on our server, and make another character to suit you desires.

It is not only badly wanted, u deleted it:D and I lost it because of that, it is not about entitlement, I am asking politely to have it returned. please take that into consideration.

And a answer as: in that case no is not really a reply seeing the effort I made into explaining, maybe try to teach people how to reply on queries.

My name is also taken by some 4lvl shaman who haven't got any rank/rr for more than a year, every other variation that i ever use is also taken by seemingly inactive low ranks (most of them <10)

I understand why don't want to "free up names" but honestly if you have info how long account/character was inactive why not do wipes of 1-10rank characters more often?

It wouldn't make much of a difference. It's certainly not something we would do without letting people know, and it wouldn't be much of a secret.

If we set an arbitrary minimum level to retain your character without automatic deletion after X days, people will simply grind to that arbitrary number and let the character sit there. I have three characters myself that are R10 or lower, and more that are in T1. If the requirement was R16, I'd simply grind each of them up to that, and I'm sure others would as well.

That being said, it's not something we haven't discussed internally as a team, but it wasn't a priority for anyone to pick up and develop, and the logistics and logical issues are apparent anyway.

Note that it is possible to change one characters name once a month, a r40/rr40+ character.
Point is that you can create your character now and hope in the future that the name you want will be freed up one way or another.

Actually you did reply with an explanation that made sense instead of
'In that case: no' and closing the topic. So I thank you for this.

If I would have been given an answer like this instead of the one I received from Elven that lacked any information whatsoever then there would have been no need to create this follow up.

Should any of your volunteer staff require training in defusing community/customer queries (and seeing the previous answer I received this seems to be the case) I can provide it free of charge for you.
