nah man it ist not about who stayed or killed more , what im trying to say the whole system is pure hell , add the fact u can get top contribution and screw the roll to get a piece of conqueror or get a duplicate item is just mindboggling .Penril wrote:This is not a "i killed more than you" post. This is a "we had top kills in the 3 hours we played and no one in my group got top contribution, let alone a bag" post. From your post, I get that you guys played 6 hours and still didnt get bags?
If you think that is fine, then I will have to disagree with you. Are you supposed to do nothing but RvR for 20 hours to get one Conq piece (which you might probably already have)? Are you saying that 3 hours doing nothing but RvR means **** as far as contribution goes? I could have gotten a lot of emblems doing SCs for 3 hours.
people fight like rabid rats for contribution to reach the bags and often it involve total pain levels wich involve alot of time and if u camp because rl etc all that work will go to trash bin . then u get high contri and suddenly fail the roll and it i believe stress people outta the game .
i wish the Seal system for imperator gear could be improved to get stuff like genesis , subjugator , soemthing like 500 t4 seals for a subjugator or 300 for a genesis , it would help people to just not focus into contribution grind and enjoy the game by killing other players in big good fights .
p.s no tio, me lleve la purpura , falle el roll, ya tengo 4 capas subjugator hehe

it's also somewhat messed up that I have 0 need for Gold bags, but still win them, but what I need is blue bags, and then some kind of blood sacrifice so the RNGesus so that I get the missing Genesis piece instead of dozenth double piece...

Do you guys think it would entice you more if you had some way to select which bag you wanted? For instance instead of just opt out of gold, you could put "only purple" "only blue" or "all bags" or "give me medallions" - to allow the ones who actually need them to get them? And you can pick either medallions or seals or something like that?
Random (semi whiskey/tipsy side not) - but figured I'd interject as I'm watching some old classic movies and this randomly popped into my head. I mean how many people got a gold who wanted purple, or some other variant. Obviously the "how about zero" cliche can be posted....
But just another spitball. Thoughts??Again this is all to get MORE people in the lakes!

I think we also need to recognize the limitations of what the devs can do. I know the RvR contribution system is wonky and it SEEMS like RNG to most people and I have suspicion they don't want to reveal the system because 1) they don't want people to game the system (like they have told us) but 2) their limitations on how they can make a system, are very flawed so the system we have is flawed... just my guess. If they released the details it would probably do more harm than good.
I think people are willing to accept this "RNG" contribution system (again this is what it feels like) if there wasnt as much RNG on what loot you get. What I mean is this.
#1 it feels like RNG contribution.
#2 then we have the roll which is also RNG.
#3 finally, we get a bag... but what's in it is ALSO RNG.
So it feels like triple RNG. Which is what is frustrating. Worse is the feeling that your ALL competing against eachother... how many times has a group or guild member gotten that bag you wanted and you just can't help but feel negative towards them. I know I have.
This is really why I think a pure medallions purchase system (and you can even add seals to the cost too) is a much better system for gear.
Right now player A gets a gold bag. Player B gets green. Player B doesn't need green he needs gold and feels mad. Player A gets a duplicate and feels mad.
New idea: currency grind.
Player A gets gold and gets 50 medallions. He is happy.
Player B gets green and gets 10. He may feel a tad slighted but overall he is happy.
Both are happy and feel they got something from The.
If this translates to getting gear too quickly.. add seal cost to pieces OR just increase cost.

That I feel is what definitely gotta be introduced at some point or another. However, keep in mind that these lootpools would be over-saturated; the access to these bags would be diminished shortterm, but would be (greatly) improved longterm - hence duplicates couldn't be really dealt with (via dropchances on the super-shinies), as without them the lootpools would rather 'quickly' empty out and kill the carrot-to-stick ratio, I figure.freshour wrote:Do you guys think it would entice you more if you had some way to select which bag you wanted? Even Conq gear is earned faster if you have more enemies to kill which in turn drop more medals. Outside of EU evenings its dreadfully slow at times, you can easily roam lakes and not encounter anything to kill during off hours.

I can live with all of this somehow, EXCEPT getting duplicates. It really drives me bonkers getting the third identical shoulderpads and you cannot even sell or give them away to a guild mate. That is real lost time and effort.th3gatekeeper wrote:

Would be nice if the game could check if I have something already equipped or in my backpack before going "Aaaaaand here is your price, the same thing you already have 3 copies of....No no, don't thank me....now shoo and off you go!"

If you got a gold bag, there is a purple and a blue bag in it that you can choose.
If you got a purple, there is a blue bag in it that you can choose.

IIRC "opting out" isn't plausible in the lakes so you pretty much get what you get. I agree that there should still be some level of RNG. People do get frustrated with duplicates, however
