Solo Roam RVR Question

Would anyone EU/NA be interested in designating two maps (if one is active, use the other) - to avoid the zergs and enjoy the solo/duo/small group roaming that was so big on live?

I get that it sucks you can't get bags, but I will say some of my favorite fights on this server have been 4-6 vs 4-6 and so on. And I really do love the 2v2's and 1v2's.

This might be a horrible idea but I can't help but ask and see what people think about it? Everyone has that one zone in their mind that they love to roam, they also have that one zone or two that they loath with a burning passion.

Curious what the few people who browse the forums think about this? I know a LOT of people like to practice duels, 1v1's 2v2's and so on, and I'm sure undoubtedly a large group may show up to troll but I think it'd be fun in those slower times to just head to CW and pick some fights with other groups who are roaming and Q'ing for SC's.

Feel free to say this is the dumbest idea in the world, after all this is general discussion :D

I love the idea but i dont have high hopes....

As for zones, Praag is my favourite , Reikland is nice too... DW and TM are so-so. Caledor, BC, KV I dislike.

Sounds like it wouldn't work.
Pretty much always afk or tabbed out.

Yeah I said it might not be the best idea ever. But idk. Say Praag and CW. If either was active, roamers can just head to the other and q for SC's and have some fun fights in the mean time. Prolly would get 10x more action than roaming the zerg zones and destro really doesn't like making WB's all that often minus a few certain groups.

I love it, i roam alone all the time to try and find this fights.
The T1 design some what helps. When you know the zerg is going to point A, you go to point B a defended BO. Hopefully its 1-3 people only.

Back on live i used to run around in Praag 24/7, it was a huge thing to do. Were alot of ppl around. Fun part was that none really "cheated" you were solo or had a duo. Was awsome to be honest. I ran as a solo Choppa (Snon) on KN =)

If locked zones gave RR praag could be a option, if people started to roam there when closed.

Its the only reson i keep re-rolling or debolster to do T1 and T3 over and over again, its more fun fights there :P

The dream would be to have small zones along with the big oRvR for small scale that somehow affect the big zone. #dreams

Ah dang, I totally forgot/didn't know you didn't get RR for kills in non active zones. Yeah that might actually make it a bit of a problem as solo/duo kills generally yield significantly more RR than warbands. I know the fights are 10x the fun, but yeah. Prolly will have to shelf the idea unless that is ever changed which I highly highly hiiiiighly doubt will happen lol.

Ah well, back to PVE and SC's.

Ya same reason Beastlord PvP became more frustrating then fun. No RR.
But you have T1 and T3, its alot of fun there atm :)

Roaming in an inactive zone would be pointless, as there wouldn't be anyone around to fight. The exception is, of course, if duels could be arranged prior by means of an announcement there will be some number of people in a locked zone specifically looking for duels. I have tried to do this on a few occasions but rarely has anyone shown up.

As for roaming in the active zones, the most effective for this activity are Praag, KV, and BC. Reikland can be exploited for roaming but at times you must use the PVE routes to get where you want to be. CW is fair, but because of the design your opportunities are dictated more by fate than design. There are a few good spots in DW, along with one or two in Eataine. TM is far more suited for group activity while for roaming Caledor is worthless. True, there are a couple of spots where one can spring an ambush, but that tactic tends to work only once and then the enemy is on to what you are doing.

One note on KV. For roaming I love the place. There are more hidey-holes, deflections, and opportunities for deception there than any other zone except Praag. You just have to know where to look.

Yeah I don't really have a problem with surprising people. It is more, trying to surprise 10-20 people with 3-4 lol. But again, the no RR kinda bites this one in the butt.

Why not open up for RR gain in closed zones? Only the open zone would give a bag anyways so can't see it would be a problem of diverting the population as 95% would still be in the "bag zone". That way ppl being tired of the zerg can have some smallscale/soloroam fun too, without being analed by wbs all the time.
