Ive seen procs proc off direct damage AoEs from my SM taunt weapon. I imagine its the same for armor procs.

Thinking the same but sometimes i see the proc only on 1 target under a long test session.

5 pc bonus for 183 shield just means you shouldn't be getting that and go for a 3/3/3 or 4/3/2 type bonus. Just saying, take advantage of bonuses and ignore the worthless ones.

some good bonuses are at lower rank bonuses for a reason, and some quite useless/worthless bonuses are at the top, to give proper incentives to mix sets. For mdps the 5th piece bonus of the 183 absorb proc is somewhat silly, same with the 6th bonus of crit reduction (as if those will prolong your life by more than 1-2 second if under pressure)
The 520 bonus makes sense for the melee classes that can get it, sadly the 260 bonus is in comparison so tiny it hardly makes a dent.

Then again, IMO you should only use Dominator if you can't get Annihilator faster.
The SC set is however good for dps healers and dps tanks.

I'll give an example of what I mean. The 5 piece merc/dominator and 6 pc dominator bonuses are pretty solid... but going 3pc merc, 3 pc dominator is a total of like 110-120 str and wounds bonus! In just 6 pieces. Which still leaves me to get the Beastlord set 3 pc bonus if WS from gear wasn't nearly completely useless. However you 3 pc beastlord bonus might actually be useful and so you could think about getting it. That is what I meant by it.

Me As shammy dps get a proc of 10% steal 100 toughness.... I have a spammable aoe 120 toughness debuff and a Single 240 toughness debuff that dont stack with The proc and the toughness get dont stack with other toughness buffs. Its 100% pure useless . So plz get youre barrie and feel good about that

for full tanking build : crit reduction.
it synergy with renown skill.
full domi is -8. renown is -24. skaven ring -2. SC weapons -4.
toughness have limited synergy. can't go up to 800.

Do I have to go that much under 0% chance in being crit hit ? I have 4.4% chance in being crit hit actually and I haven't the 6piece domi yet and haven't put any point in crit reduction with renown points .
So you suggest me to go at -24% chance in crit reduction ?

I know the max I can have with toughness actually is ~ 850
