Dream on, the staff/player interaction will never be good, there isn't enough incentive on either side to improve it, sorry there just isn't, the staff have limited resources/funds and are beholden to nothing and no one and the players will always have fundamental disagreements with the choices the staff make.th3gatekeeper wrote:I think this is hard to do. While it would be "ideal" right now I dont think there ARE long term plans aside from "wack-a-mole" issues currently + getting client control. Once that happens it opens up a LOT more possibilities.Dabbart wrote:Sorry, Dev Blog is the wrong term to use. I meant in relation to this: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=20563

What I'm trying to say is that you guys have in the past provided info, and that currently are offering it. Maybe I should of been more clear. The information most players seem to want, in regards to what your peoples plans are, thoughts, direction, reasoning, etc has pretty much already been spelled out. The patch notes give the players a direct area to discuss particular changes/issues, and spells out quite completely what has been done, fixed, and the reasoning for particulars. It just takes a little effort to go search for it...
I also dont mean that in any negative way at all. It makes sense. They are rebuilding a game that once was... The "LONG TERM" may not be feasible... So right now its a "wait and see" approach.
Will they address class balance on say, AM, WL, Shaman, WP? Etc. Sure they will.... In "2 Weeks". But right now there is noone "heading" this charge... And I dont blame them.
The ROR population is VICIOUS and unforgiving and really not humble about having this alpha server to begin with. You should be on late NA times and see the flack the players give the DEVs... its RIDICULOUS.
I would say if you want more clarity from the DEVs, talk to the ungrateful player base that causes them to be more jaded and closed off rather than open.
if everyone here treated the DEVs like family or friends... Who understand this is a FREE project that is kept running by THEIR time and THEIR finances... Then the DEV team might be more willing to say "You know, ive been thinking about XXX lately, what do you guys think" but if that were to happen, people would be flaming ALL OVER THE PLACE, "OMG, your addressing XXX and not YYY issue? Do you guys even have a clue.." etc etc... Its really pitiful how the DEV team is treated....
/endrant.
End of story.
Think they're gonna denerf scenario kill points? nope? neither did all the people that left last summer for that specific reason.
