The burst is insanely OP in current state of game with many classes having low armour values, the WL debuffs strips them bare and leaves them open to the following high physical damage burst.

"first seconds of a fight" thing applies to many many classes, either a sorc/BW kills something fast from range, or they die if the enemy mdps catches them (hint, guess which class that has both fetch and pounce has the easiest time of catching enemy rdps...?)
Some people call WL the "bane of goblins", which is true, if you think that Pounce is a direct counter for RunAway speed tactic... however this "counter" of gobbos also results in WLs overperforming against any other enemy class that tries to run away with lesser success.
First seconds are extremely crucial for WH/WE, who have LIGHT ARMOUR (WL gets to enjoy MEDIUM ARMOUR), and if they do not kill target within the initial 4-8 seconds, it's a victory to the victim and most often results in the WH/WE dying soon afterwards. Slayer/Choppa can maybe provide better "sustained damage" over longer combat sessions, but due to WL having a wide variety of CC and greater mobility, Slayers are falling out of style in current T4 metaplay due to being more squishy (possessing a mechanic that is not a win-win system - compared to Mara "which buff/debuff set should I choose today" mechanic)

As for deftard tanks, well, their sole task is to be hard to kill, and any dps class will have issues, from either high block/parry or high disrupt. However WL is performing quite well thanks to their extremely potent armour debuff and variety of positional damage increaser options.

So yeah, the current numbers of WLs alone should be enough evidence to support the statement that WLs are current kings of DPS. Sorc and BW will kill themselves whereas WL will just pounce to next victim or have their magical pet pull people in ways that defy reason.

The Devs have stated that the game will never be balanced from a 1v1 view point. Yes the WL is strong at the moment from a 1v1 point of view.

There are a few downsides to the WL that make it become more balanced from a group perspective. There is a reason why double WL isnt meta.

"Strong" lel yep if you can call something that has best mobility and best burst in game only strong then okay yep Wl is only strong....and yes I mean it bw's are not as bad if you watch your debuffs and work with detaunt. This thing jumps on you and if your tank got out of range then it's over.

Just because double Wl isn't meta doesn't mean wl isn't overperforming by a lot. There is a reason why wl is used in nearly every grp and don't start on with oooh it's because he has a armor debuff. He had an armor debuff on live and wasn't used as much as he is here. On live he had many problems which were just fixed or adjusted which is why he is overperforming so much now. Pounce was buggy as ****, pulls didn't work as good, pet was waaaay slower. The pet is a **** nightmare here on ror. It's a teleporting bastart catching you on your 60% mount dealing 1k dmg per second against low armor enemys. Don't know how the wl pets stats got adjusted but it's bs. This thing sometimes takes longer to kill than a squishy player .....

Do any of the above Nerf the WL cheerleaders have a rr40 WL ??? I find most people complain in this game about a class even though they have never played it.

Oh I forgot the amount of skill required to press 3 buttons is nearly endless. Oh no I'm so bad because i'm dead after the 3s kd. Next time I should also pop my 6k 3s dmg skills oh wait I don't have such a thing.

Very amusing to talk of skill in warhammer anyway. Where 95% of how good you are is equip, setup and positioning....

Actually, you are the one who first mentions the word "nerf"

others here are just informing a newbie here why he/she should roll a WL, and explaining why it is such a "awesome" class to play. :)

funny thing is, over time you start noticing a certain correlation between

"player X killed me, he is pro"
"player X killed me, player X happens to play WL"

ofc my sample size is limited, but certain patterns start to emerge ;)
