...and indirectly the Blackguard if applicable.
I'm bored and this area of the forum is dead so as the title says. Personally I wouldnt overhaul the class trees but have small changes to certain skills that would make them useful, making the IB more group/warband viable instead of the current knight/SM meta going on right now.
- Reduce Rune-Etched Axe cooldown to 5 seconds from 10
- Remove cooldown from Shield Sweep to mirror Monstrous Rending. Like all other grudge costing abilities it shouldn't have a cool down. The skill's balanced by being a shield requirement and only hitting 3 targets.
or
- Long Reach - Reduces the cooldown for both Rune-Etched Axe and Shield Sweep by 5 seconds.
Tactics
-Oath of Veangence. Should include Guarded Attack, Stubborn as Stone and Oathbound as the area wide buffs instead of just vengeful Strike.
-Overprotective. Raise proc chance to 50%. Nobody currently uses it for a reason. There might be a bug where it only procs when the oath-friend is directly targeted by single target skills. It doesnt seem to work when indirectly targeted by aoe despite being direct damage.
Keep in mind this is just discussion. Even wild ideas are welcome if they generate discussion. No idea is a stupid one.

Re: [DISCUSSION] Improvements you'd make to the Ironbreaker Class?
Make Oathbound, 25% parry/ini buff in Stone tree, baseline. I have no good reason for this other than I want easy access to parry while still having cave win and grumble/mutter
Increase damage of Grudge Born Fury. Increased crit chance is great, but it hits like a wet noodle even so.
Um...thats all I got. Ironbreaker feels solid, honestly. I know Knight and SM overshadow it, but IB doesnt really give that much up and I feel if you want a decent melee assist tank, 2h IB is a viable alternative to SM.

I've found grudge-born fury to be pretty good depending on how you use it. I use it as a finisher when ive popped off Stone Breaker > Cave In > Heavy Blow >GBF. I wouldnt need it improved. Then again my str is 970.

Yeah, I run way more defensive stats than I do STR. Full renown into parry and disrupt/dodge, winds impervious jewelry set, etc. I mix str and armor gems so that with self armor buff, I can remain at credible armor level wen mara debuffed. I have gone full str route before, and I feel it makes me way too squishy. Havent tried it yet with new gear tho.

Re: [DISCUSSION] Improvements you'd make to the Ironbreaker Class?
I run with toughness instead and found that more handy then armor. It caps at 75% anyhow, aint it? I add it to 90% for the mara debuff and call it a day.GodlessCrom wrote:Yeah, I run way more defensive stats than I do STR. Re: [DISCUSSION] Improvements you'd make to the Ironbreaker Class?
wish for wish something like this for BG
LEFT MASTERY:
-Hastened doom---> half the value but stack with all other wounds debuff in game ( solve the redundancy problem with mara/chosen and requiring a crit (aka RNG) to proc it wont happen as opener so it need to stack)
MID MASTERY:
-KD can also enlight with parry (solve KD problem)
-*anger drives me--->from 30% parry buff to parry/dodge/disrupt buff for 30%
-feeding on weakness ---> remove CD
-terryfing foe---> proc change from hateful strike to feeding on weakness
RIGHT MASTERY
mind killer--> from 3 stack to 1 stack
Soul killer--> also increase chance to be disrupted by 20%
*shielding anger ---> 20% heal more on yourself and half the value % on every group member in 100 feet(stack with zealot tactic)
*unstopable fury---> mirror kobs runfang (add dmg assist option to s+b + mid/right mastery build)

Make skills like Ancestor's Fury, Oathbound, Stubborn as Stone and Watch An' Learn also do damage so you don't gutter your dps by buffing your allies. Obviously it doesn't have to be all of them. But for a dps IB it is while hitting an enemy just not worth using Ancestor's Fury over using the gcd for a damaging ability.

Well, yes it does cap at 75% but you want more than that to buffer against Weapon Skill and armor debuffs. I have 5.1k armor self buffed, and that helps a lot against the 1500 or so armor a marauder debuffs, and still gives me some respite from weapon skill stacking.Kragg wrote:I run with toughness instead and found that more handy then armor. Toughness, IIRC, is one of the worst scaling stats in the game, and you really need a lot of it to matter. I have like 580 self buffed and thats enough for me IMO. Wounds, parry/dodge/disrupt, and armor/resists are all more important for survivability imo.
