Can We Talk About Loot Rolls?

Firstly, this has nothing to do with contribution, how the open rvr bag system works, etc. I want to know how the individual roll system is set up for emblem and medallion currency. Currently, it feels very off and I wanted to understand if my experience was shared by other players.

For example, today I had some good orvr and sc fighting with the same premade for at least a couple of hours. We had a healthy level of conq medallions dropping, which was great! About an hour into it we were joking that one member of the group seemed to be winning nearly all of the medallions that dropped. This member said they had thirty medallions so far. Another member of the group mentioned they hadn't received any medallions so far. I myself was probably sitting at about +6 to +8.

So, my ultimate question is: is anyone else experiencing this level of disparity with currency rolls in their groups? If so, is this working as intended?

I'm all for keeping some amount of randomness in game, but if a group of 6 wins 60 medallions and every member is 'Need'ing them, I would imagine each person would have 8-12 medallions. The current system does not feel that way, in my perspective.

Complete RNG for medallions. Luck of the draw.

For any meaningful statistics you need to observe the rolls on at least 1000 medallions. But even then one person could get all medallions (very unlikely, but still possible).
When looking at the rolls for 6 persons on 1000 medallions, you will high likely see that the distribution is closer to 167 medallions per person.

The distribution of conq medallions was perfectly fine in that group.

A few weeks ago some guy bragged on voicecoms about having some kind of "cheat" how to manipulate your own loot rolls upwards.... Can't remember names from weeks ago, but there might be a small chance that if one persons wins a sheer majority of 30-50 loot rolls, considering how it should start "evening" out as the size of "random rolls" increases, all players in a premade should move closer towards winning 16.667% of the rolls. (assuming RNG works)
Yet, a sample that is smallish might show any kind of weird distributions. (even sample of 100 is weak, but by that sample size there should be some kind of early signs of proper distribution)
But if you day after day notice the same person always winning, they might be cheating.

I highly doubt anyone was cheating the system. Just a favorable luck of the draw, if you will.

I always thought the gear reward in this game was pretty poor design and one of the few reasons war failed as a live game. You hide your gear already behind a time sink called RR. Which is fine if that's your only barrier. Its not other huddles include 1. You compete for zone bags agaist the entrity of the zone you finally win the rng you then get to roll the dice again **** gloves for the 3rd time. Or 2. As a consilation prize you get rewarded medals or get to roll against your group if your group was lucky enough to get the db more rng. If your lucky you can go buy some gear. Then you do the math a realize at this current rate you can get a full set in x amount if years.

Im not sure on the power creep in tier sets on ROR.. but i come from the school of skill>gear and your gameplay should do the talking not your treadmills as once the player realizes their on the no win treadmill your attiration rate skyrockets. As a pvp first game which requires players in x amount to make the game it is deadly. Addee to the fact as new players cycling on to the server are just as unable to compete on the gear curve so they dont attempt to gather the gear. No where does this show up like it does in t4. Its not that t4 meta isnt fun. If you read all the user reviews it was t1 thru t3 that they raved about why? Cause the gear gap could be bridged by having greater skill youre never that many levels behind. Which is not the case in t4 where fun goes to die. As your competing for gear just to be competitive

Well this post is longer then I intended it be. I didnt want this to be turned into an object lesson on game design or Wars failings. You seem to have a smart crew here and are well of it.

Hi k13r
There are 2 pve based sets which act as an entry t4 set, these are ruin gear from pqs and beast lord from lair boss kills.
secondly, like on live you can buy off the AH 2 piece of gloves and boots for any gear set as long as it is there, or join a guild maybe they have some spare pieces.
Thirdly, playing in a group will greatly increase the rate of accumulation, the level of skill is in creating a supportive group environment and profiting from your dps players being able to use the abilities in a smart way to get the db. You will see this if you look at who has highest kills in the zone.
Fourthly, the stat difference between the top sets (current end game gear) you can read why on the forums else where, is minimal a player in anni gear can be as competitive as a player in conquer or dominator when player in a supportive group environment.
