Re: Concqueror drop for healers
Im not talking about excluding anyone either. Thats why I suggested a kill quest that anyone who contributed with assising or being in a party of someone who assisted on a target would get completion of. You could probobly do a mechanic in were the group with the highest damage on the target gets the roll, but that unfairly favours certain group comps and descriminates groups who are built for warband support. (The current one does aswell btw). And I also suspect that such damage tracking would cause more server instabillity as it needs to keep more stuff in memory.dansari wrote:I can absolutely understand that frustration, but I guess my "counter" (not that it's an argument, but a different perspective) is that.. phalanx is warbanding in orvr. Other players are either going to naturally follow you or do it for the ks. I don't think there's a way around that, but if it's about medallion grabbing, I would think y'all would be getting more killblows than a party following you and/or you'll be doing more things that will net you higher contribution than a group following like sheep (you'll be the ones dropping rams, running supplies, tanking Lord, etc.)Spoiler:

And dmg tracking is a bad idea because dmg is not effektivness. A aoe dot magus makes Tons of dmg but 60% useless dmg so that will be a Bad idea

Re: Concqueror drop for healers
It would be damage tracking on the individual target that died anyway so weather or not it's AoE damage is irrelevant. What I think is more concerning about group damage tracking is that different group comps deals more damage by default and that favours specfic group comps wich isn't really fair coz you bring different dps classes or non dps classes to a warband coz of their support and utillity primarly. And it will moast likly soak much more memory aswell.Daknallbomb wrote:And dmg tracking is a bad idea because dmg is not effektivness. Re: Concqueror drop for healers
In some way or another, some specific group comps are always favoured. My main issue is, that i don't really see a steady progress - something i can count with. For me it's not that important, if i get the set in 3 or 10 months.
It is a little bit frustrating to see very irregular progress on a short time-scale.

Re: Concqueror drop for healers
Easy "side"-solution to Conq medallion draught:
-T4 keep Lord defence quest, kill 25 enemies, earn ONE conq medal as reward
-T4 lake kill quest, kill 25 people in area, earn ONE conq medallion
-T4 50/50/50 grind quest of racial kills in open rvr, earn FIVE conq medallions (max one per day?)
That way, even if you roll always shitty rolls and often someone else snatches the DB, a successful keep defence where you get many kills at least rewards you with one medallion. After an hour of roaming the zone and getting many assists, with **** luck you still might have earned nothing, but the quest of 25 lake kills at least gives you minor reward of one medallion. And if you throughout your day of fighting somehow manage to slaughter enemies right and left, killing 50 midgets and humies and pointy ears, surely da big bosses will you give you dem loots consisting of few medallions.
calculations:
assuming Conq gear costs in total 1700 medals
even with worst luck, you should probably get 200 medals by yourself, so lets assume you need to get 1500 medals from the quests
for those 1500 medals you would need 1500 repeated keep defence quests (assuming you can with luck do 2-3 in a day)... earned in 100 days? 2,5 months? For average players with less playtime, maybe 3-5 months.
Same with 25 rvr kill, you would need to repeat it 1500 times, assisting in 37500 kills... wew, that's not even much, totally doable in one weekend eh?
With 50/50/50 rewarding 5 medals, you would just need to repeat it 300 times, 45000 kills in total, but good luck finding 15000 elves, 15000 midgets (aim for the Bitterstones) and 15000 Witch Hunters because we just love them. Maybe doable in 4-6 months, not even a challenge.
Allowing some RvR quests to reward one/five medals would not make the set "easy" to achieve, but it would certainly make the RBG-based grind less nerve-wrecking.

Re: Concqueror drop for healers
Spoiler:
The main frustration people have is that there doesn't seem to be much short-term progression, as Bklopptah said. I'm definitely in the camp of "it's the best gear in game; it's supposed to take a while to get" -- but when my guildies say in TS, "Well, I've been on for two hours and I've gotten four medallions," because you're in a 6man and you've only gotten deathblows on 24 people who happened to drop a conq medallion because they weren't killed recently, it's disheartening.

Re: Concqueror drop for healers
Just an example. You've also got to consider that all 24 have to be above RR42, you have to get the deathblow, and they have to drop a medallion (sometimes people I know are over RR42 don't presumably because they died recently).Daknallbomb wrote:Hmm 24 dbs with a six man is Hardy low

Re: Concqueror drop for healers
Quick point, all the math in here is based on current conq prices. Since conq is Wnd Gear, it is priced higher than it "really is". Same as how the cost of every set has been dropped with the next release, one assumes Conq will do the some and drop significantly with the next End Gear set.
Just saying, very end game gear should take awhile. Otherwise we all get bored with no progression. So maybe adjust the math a bit with that in mind?
