How does blockrating gets calculated?
I allways tought lets say a shield with 332 block rating is 33.2% extra block on the stat window.
So if your stat window shows like 22% block and you have a shield equiped with 332 block rating you have in total 55.2% blockrating.
It just doesnt calculate the blockrating on the stat window.
Thats how i allways tought it was atleast.

Re: Block Rating
(blockRating)/(Playerlevel*7.5+50)*20) = block %
this is what I was using in my calculation when we had this discussion on guild chat.
Edit: at lvl 40 it calculates as:
(blockrating/7000) = block %

Its at the bottom:
Block:
Block rating of shield / [(level * 7.5 + 50)*5] = Block %
Not sure how accurate it is tho.

This is the formula the character sheet uses, and it's only accurate for PvE.
The (level*7.5+50) bit is the equation for an NPCs stats at any particular level. That is, at level 40, an NPC has 350 Strength. Against players, whom have higher stats, the real block rating will be much less. As I often say, the character sheet lies to you 100% of the time, and you should never trust it. Always assume the player attacking you has a softcapped attack stat.
(BlockRating / 925) * 0.2 = Your true Block Rating at level 35.
Don't know if this still holds true, but it seemed to at some point in RoR's life. Guess you'd need confirmation from a dev or someone who has tested this recently.
The 925 here is the softcap for attackers main damage stat at lvl 35. So if you'd want to calculate your block against an attacker with a softcapped damage stat at lvl 40 you'd use 1050 there instead.
