This is not a witch hunting thread SO PLEASE DON'T MAKE IT ONE.
I just came back after a break and am amazed at how many and how blatant the speed hackers are. I have seen a few in T4 but mostly in T1. While mounted I am very often caught by people on foot, and no it's not lag cause you can visually see them gaining. I will make a video once I get a good one but I wanted to know if RoR devs are doing anything about it.

record it, and send it to them as proof. it's very important that you do record empirical evidence, as opposed to making accusations, because bad latency/a bad comp can make it seem as if people are hacking (when they're not).

Absolutely and I plan on doing that if I see it in the future. Was just an open ended question as I have seen it mentioned in general and have seen a few instances of it.peterthepan3 wrote:record it, and send it to them as proof. it's very important that you do record empirical evidence, as opposed to making accusations, because bad latency/a bad comp can make it seem as if people are hacking (when they're not).

You might also want to check if they have a mount buff. Mounts despawn when entering water, but the buff will persist. This will make them appear as if they're running quickly. If they have a 60% mount, there's also an issue where they only appear to be moving at 50% speed and pop forward every couple of seconds to compensate. Both issues are known and not currently resolvable.
Either way, best to gather evidence and forward it to a GM. Users that are caught hacking are permanently banned on the spot, no warnings.
