Buffs falling off?

I would hope this has been covered, but my search-fu is weak. What causes potion buffs to drop other than duration? If this is a bug is it on the fix list?

You'll have to provide more information or possibly make a report on the bug tracker with proof, I've never experienced something like that before and I've never seen a report/complaint about it.

Really? Alright, I will keep a very close eye and report it then. As it has happened to me enough to be a regular occurrence.

It used to be that potions would not persist if you got dc'd and such but that was fixed a while back. Try to take some screen shots of this if you can, I don't see an open ticket on the bugtracker for this issue yet so it could be new, just be sure you can reproduce the issue and have plenty of proof before you post there. Also, is this happening for any potion or is it a specific one?

If you switch weapons, your buffs disappear. Might just be a visual bug.

That should only affect buffs that come from abilities, not potions.

And it's not dependent on switching your weapon, it happens when you switch any piece of equipment while wearing a set bonus of +1 mastery. The server will then recalculate mastery point contribution to your abilities and buffs and to prevent people buffing themselves while wearing mastery equipment and then retaining the bonuses while wearing other gear the buffs get removed. Sorry if that didn't make sense xD

To sum it up:

Potions are unaffected by gear changing. As pointed out above, I've never seen a potion buff disappear.

Career buffs that scale off masteries like Blade Enchants/Bellows, Flames of Rhuin/Frozen Touch, Burn Salve/Daemonic Resistance (armor buffs are unaffected cause core abilities), Bullets/Kisses, Prismatic Shield/Mork's Buffer, etc... Anything that scales with mastery points, regardless if the bonus you have is in a different tree or if the piece of gear you are unequipping/equipping is the armor providing the mastery bonus or not.

As Blaqwar posted: When items are switched with a mastery point set bonus, potions are not removed as well as non-mastery buffs. For me the only reason that this could happen is, if you try to walk into a lower tier to debolster with a potion that has a higher item level than allowed for that tier.

But it is still seen as a bug, when you lose +1 mastery, when you swap non-gearset items?
