Why adding land of the dead now could be a bad thing

I recently watched the following video previewing Land of the Dead.

The fact that the land of the dead is one of the things that is currently being worked on is kind of alarming to me for two reasons.

Firstly, while I do not know what the progress is on for instance fort and city sieges and king battles, I think these are much more important to get ingame than the land of the dead. War is a game that revolves around RvR and the whole goal to RvR is missing atm. I have complete understanding for the devs being volunteers and not having a lot of time to implement all parts of the game in a short time span, however, if this means land of the dead will be in before city/king sieges than the prioritisation of features is just completely off. If this is just a side project and those take priority then this point is invalid.

Secondly, it is very questionable if adding the land of the dead is actually a positive thing to the game. It introduced so much incredible powerful pve gear that it required players to pve to be competitive. This is opposing one of the strong points of war, that it didn't require pve grinding to get the best gear you could get.
The land of the dead was meant as a roaming pvp zone with pve objectives, and while there definitely was PvP from time to time it was much more just a separate zone detained from everything else which was mostly impacted the gear players could acquire and the need to pve to gain it.

If the devs decide to release the land of the dead I hope they will add it as a bonus and not as a required pve grind to get the best gear. Not just the sets and weapons but also the absorb shield pocket items.

Alright lets dispell some things:

1. Land of the dead will NOT contain the same powerlevel as it had on live, we do not intend on bringing the same powercreep.

2. Land of the dead probably wont come before dungeons and possibly fortresses are in. The main focus right now is client control and then the next major focus is dungeon/scripting.

Getting this straight(additional to what nath said):
By now there hasnt been done any effort to bring back lotd afaik(besides the basic stuff to implement a zone into the server.)
Second: on this server there will never be any extremely overpowered gear wether its pve or pvp for as long as torque is still alive.
Third: implementing lotd (besides dungeons) is database work for the most part, while bringing back fortresses requires coding, so most lotd work wont slow down the progress that is made to the campaign.
(And Last: what lotd release video are you talking about? Could you please post a link? It would more than surprise me if this was an official trailer.)
Edit: found the link, just didnt see it on my smartphone. Its no official trailer, this was related to the Art Contest from Yaliskah.

Where did you hear that lotd is currently being worked on?? Afaik the devs said that dungeons might come out this year, and lotd was never mentioned anywhere. I saw the devs said a couple of times that it will be QUITE some time until lotd is available.

Thanks for clearing that up.
With that one other question rises. If dungeons are implemented, will higher tier pvp gear also be available to allow people to acquire the best possible gear from pvp?

With that one other question rises. If dungeons are implemented, will higher tier pvp gear also be available to allow people to acquire the best possible gear from pvp?
The current plan (subject to change as always) is to release PVE and PVP gear at the same time of the same tier as to not make them outdated before they come out.

Have a look at the bugtracker.
Some few people are walking in the lotd and make basic testing on npcs and such.

Game on this stage , desperately needed some new content, even symbolic - like appearance item, tokens etc.
So no matter what y want to implement, implement that soon. It easier hold number of players on some level, then rebuild from start.
