Login trouble

I installed the launcher and the .exe files as instructed and checked the sticky threads but couldn't find a solution. The problem I am having is that the launcher comes up to the login screen, I hit "CONNECT" and then nothing happens, nothing opens or closes just simply nothing happens. I did all the troubleshooting recommended int he sticky like removing the Read-Only on the WAR folder and nothing seems to be working on my end, help please.
