Trying to Install - Error

I'm installing the game on a new PC, and can run the launcher, but the above message comes up. The game lobby screen will then load up, but no characters are there or options to join the server.

Any ideas how to fix this please?

I've tried the suggestions in there, they're not working unfortunately.

"lodctr /r"
Comes up with
"Error: Unable to rebuild performance counter setting from system backup store, error code is 5"

"/e:PerfProc"
Comes up with
"'lotctr' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable progam or batch file."

You didn't read thoroughly enough through that thread, your issue can not be solved with rebuilding performance counters.

I have tried all the things in the sticky.

Write protection has been removed.
Files have been removed from torrent.
I've tried performance counters fix.
Have tried unpacking launcher by clicking the link, which takes me to a site to download the launcher again, but when I click to download the launcher, it doesn't run a download and instead opens a page with adverts on it.
d3dx9_34.dll installed and is fine.

No problems with the rest as far as I can see...

Hence posting here. I'm stuck.

You have to click on the Free User (SLOW DOWNLOAD) link on the left on that Mega File download. I had to click it twice to get the download. There are other launcher DL links, let me see if I can find one.

It's on the page where you download the launcher... in the install instructions.

If you can't open a .rar file, windows will search for stuff. Just download and install 7zip. It's free and can handle .rar files.

The MegaFile Upload page has the same version of the launcher as the one in the install instructions, we probably don't need that link currently.

No need to be rude. I had done that and followed the link. As I mentioned above, it takes me to a page instead with adverts on it.

I will keep trying though.

And yes, wargrimnir, I've done that too.

I'll just take it all off and try again from the start and see if that works.

Pick the free user, it will dl it immediately.
Extract it in your WAR folder.

I appreciate the tips you've suggested, but in the end I got the game working by completely uninstalling the downloads and doing it all again. Second attempt, and it now works fine. Many thanks!
