How is this possible that ror devs doing job 10 000% better, do it in theyr free time and didnt get payed? This just goes beyond my understanding.
Especialy solution to get rid off unkilable, ultraarmored AOE healing machines from live and give them more roles insted. Wonderfull.

Agree.
Honestly I was quite upset because of the current orvr system and amount of active player base but dok and wp rework restores my beliefs.
I always say that we should w8 and give devs some time for the new content, reworks and etc and now when I see that devs are really working on some amazing things I can w8 much more until new content

Re: With all respect to original devs.
It's really quite staggering, isn't it? =P Plus the original devs were getting paid...it's amazing.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
The original devs had to fill applications if they need to go to the toilet.
Seriously, the major percentage of what was wrong with WAR was high likely not because of the devs, but of decision makers higher above.
Edit: that doesn't mean that RoR devs are not awesome, but most people seem to think that the majority of paid software developers is free to do what they want.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
Unlike the original Devs, this team won't have to ask for permittion to change something, neither they have a company breathing into their necks, while dictating changes.
Sure, they love the game, they have nice ideas, but don't think they would be able to change anything based on their free will, if they would've been in the very same position, as the original devs were. They were paid, correct, for a job - if they like what they have to do, or not - not for the chance to make something better/fun.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
To be fair to the old devs Kevean and Kevin. There were only two of them for like the last two years and before that they were all secretly working on wrath of heroes or drafted in to finish swtor. From what I heard Kevean wanted to make changes but was blocked by bioware or GW. EA were the problem gutting the game and letting it die.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
Yep, that's pretty much the long and short of it. We're not getting blocked by someone in marketing or in corporate or in some other area of the game who doesn't know anything about the actual game and is too afraid of seeing his numbers drop to make changes. This is something that doesn't get well understood: once you get pigeonholed into being the kind of company or developer that yields to complaints, you will be relentlessly pressured every time you want to make a questionable change. We've had the liberty of breaking that trap here, but large developers don't always do so.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
That right there. Way back in Beta it became quite obvious the Devs weren't any happier than we were about the unfinished and/or unbalanced state of the game but were nonetheless limited in their ability to do anything about it. You got the sense that the EA money men were pushing them to get the game out the door, finished or not. The Mythic folks couldn't say so of course, but it was fairly obvious nonetheless. Once it released of course most of the Dev team was moved away from the game over time, eventually leaving a skeleton crew that wasn't even involved in the initial development. Gaming company politics hurt the game, not Mythic.Luth wrote:The original devs had to fill applications if they need to go to the toilet.

Re: With all respect to original devs.
I have to agree, theres been more positive changes to the game in the last ~3 months than there has been from mythic in the last 3 years of the game.
