Unlike chess, people don’t feel like just sacrificing themselves “for the greater good”

Nor does an ability that’s only affective by kamikazing with it sound like a very well designed one

Lastly why are you not factoring in WW completely negating any effects of bad gas?
It's a game, I'd gladly be sacrificed for 10 seconds if my team would have a chance of winning by doing that. We're not playing solo hammer.

WW is an selective ability with long cooldown, imo it should not be mentioned as counter to a bad gas. If every player in a warband would coordinate to cleanse it with it, then gg, that's impressive. But, that still does not protect from being gassed again in a quick succession when the skill is on cooldown.

Warband vs Warband event Phallanx vs King's Own (never heard this guild) - to prove who's right and who is wrong.

Do it!

Seriously tho, are you suggesting melee squigs to self-punt into back-line to get one skill off?
From all my WAR experience I've never seen any warband-sized guilds do that on destro as far as I can recall. Perhaps new meta inbound?
Martyr's Square: Sync & Nerfedbuttons - enigma
Martyr's Square: Dureal & Method - Disrespect/It's Orz again
Badlands: Dureal & Alatheus - Exo
Karak-Norn: Sejanus - Blitz/Elementz

Would be pretty cool to see (and fight against).

That kiiiinda happened? Although we were 2.5 parties. I'm just digging through old recordings to sort them up a bit :D

I would just like to add that these kind of discussions have little added value. Kings Own is no more, and probably never will be. Phalanx currently is something (which is great, sometimes even envy them, had the most fun when in TS with 23 other goofs). Both Phalanx and Kings Own played in an outdated fashion at the start of their existence, looking back it amazes me how both guilds even managed to get as far as they got. The server has matured and so has warband composition/tactics and direction of large scale fighting in general. The players from KO that continued to Aftershock are few but have improved aswell (me included).

Looking forward to fight Phalanx once our 12-man group is up and running. Also aside from some KO players moving over to Aftershock we are an entirely "new" guild and have a different envisioned playstyle.

I couldn't said it better. Hopefully we'll get that 12 man sooner then later, to have fun with you guys :-)

Respect Aftershock & Eiger a lot, and they're making a name for themselves in the 6v6 scene too so it's good to have a guild that can engage in all types of PvP around!

Well, yeah, this thread quickly ended up where it was to be expected. Kiddo-trash-talk.

Having been part on Live of Crimson (most my WAR life), Red Guard (briefly) and then the alpha 6-men of Elementz (half a year or so), and then on ROR Kings Own and now Aftershock, I have participated in any game mode in a hardcore fashion: bomb-warbands, six-men roaming, 6v6 and solo-roaming. And the guilds and the players I respected the most were always the quiet and reserved ones.

At the end of the day... actions speak louder than words, and all this e-peen forum warrioring does is make people look like muppets that live in their moms basement. If you're really good, you won't feel the need to be bragging about it on a forum.

Respect should be given when respect is due. And god knows I nerd-rage enough on voice-comms when I fight certain guilds and players, but that's because I hate losing. Nevertheless fact of the matter remains that Porn Factory and Phalanx run the best WBs on the serve and that most of the guys/gals I spoke to are a good laugh, that Korze runs the best six-men on Destro and is always up for a chat or a 6v6 and that there are plenty of solo roamers that I do a /bow for when I defeat them 1v1 or send a /w to for a friendly chat when they kill me fair and square. Shout out to all you, and a tip off my hat.

It ain't that hard. Feeling good about yourself and being a decent human being are not mutually exclusive.
