Access to WAR.exe Denied

Hello!

I'm brand new to Return of Reckoning. I had no idea there was a private server for WAR, and was extremely happy to have found you guys!

I followed the step by step to download the client and the launcher. Upon launching and attempting to log in, I received this error message:

Error starting: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\X\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning\WAR.exe' is denied.

After searching the forums for a solution, I came across direction to uncheck the "read only" box in the properties of the WAR.exe file.

Now, the game appears to log me in; however, there is no option to create a character, and I receive this new error message:

I delved further into the forums for a solution, and all I could find was a suggestion that I might not have the data.myp file. I checked, and I do.

Any ideas how to solve this one?
