Most things are based on the character ID, so no, that shouldn't matter.

oh no man, i didn't mean it like that. was just a reference to my perverse fascination with character names inspired by J.M.Barrie characters that live in Neverland =P

It should be. Type .namechange <new name> to change the name. It can only be done once per account per month.

Note: You must meet the prerequisites:

RR40+
No exile (temporary ban) sanctions.
