Forum and Game Login issues - can't connect

Note: I have tried all of the solutions - the CMD prompt, trying to login several times as per grimnir's youtube video, making the WAR folder not read only (although this always resets upon completion) and changing the WAR folder's directory - to no avail. Apologies if this has been mentioned, but to the best of my knowledge most people's issues seem to have been rectified by following the aforementioned solutions

I attempted the CMD lodctr /e:PerfProc but nothing happens after I enter that.

I can login on the RoR launcher, it loads the WAR screen, and then I am brought to the screen that usually shows 'Logging in...'/the character selection screen. However, nothing happens, and after about 20 seconds the game just crashes.

Also I can not login on the forums with my account, but I can do so on another computer. To further exacerbate things, I can occasionally login to the game at random intervals, i.e. after exhausting all other avenues, the game will 'just' work sometimes...for a brief time, but it will crash.

Any help would be much appreciated and, again, I apologise if a solution to this exact problem has already been explained. For what it's worth I am using Windows 10, and have everything updated.

When the game crashes to desktop, does it show any popup error message?

'Application failed - will now terminate' or something along those lines. It doesn't say anything else.

It could be some utility program causing conflict with the game. Also, try using a VPN just to see.
