Is this another discussion pulling at those pesky hanging threads of a flawed two realm system? It wasn't FOX News on live and it won't be FOX News in RoR. Any reward for locking all pairings, other than some renown and inf, is a bad idea especially when you can play both sides.

Is not true that destro zerg. If u follow faction ratio is all time balanced. If u have ppl farming or afk, u cant blame the other side for that.

Yesterday, we lock elf after some push back from KV to TM with less of a WB, cos all order was bussy farming at praag keep (we take few keeps with no more defense that a group who try ninja BOs). Later order push praag and we defend the zone with less of a WB... When start def we have 280 AAO and take BOs with only few guys... when wipe order at lord on N keep, he still have 120 AAO and all order ragequit... When take last keep, we have 1 WB with 6 healer only...

U can try keep blaming ratio balance, but the true is that order have soo many self player mind and only care on farm as single player that give up after 1 wipe

Unique appearance gear that expired after 48-96 hours, so you would have to keep up the offensive if you wanted to maintain whatever cosmetic look you wanted, or save up 5 seals for a whole set that would expire after the predetermined amount of time.

For the players. Seals for cosmetics sounds like it could be pretty cool, but if I have to work for ~4 hours knocking over keeps to get something that's gone after 48 hours, of which I will only be logged in for maybe 12? Meh. Sounds like it'd get old pretty quick.

I only think expiring cosmetics as a reward which aren't permanent would be good because it would encourage continued effort to maintain your fancy pants. There's still dungeons and city sieges, plus quests that will be implemented offering permanent cosmetic items. But player/community driven triple zone locks shouldn't reward the winning faction with anything that will make it easier to do so, but a visual representation of their efforts for a short period of time. Maybe a week?

Any Devs/DB have anything to add?

Sounds like a bit of work on both the player/db end. Make it cost a little more, but don't make it expire. Taking away the carrot that you've worked for seems a bit much. People are going to play if they want to or not, no reason to take the rewards to "force" people to keep playing to keep them. We don't want more skinner box mechanics. At least I don't.

Not really a fan of items that'll expire; considering that alternate appearance stays despite losing the item, the point you're trying to make is void; people will be able to retain this 'unique' appearance on gear until they attain something with better stats.
