Destruction of the weak stage 1.

Is there any chance a dev could reset this public quest as it looks like the hero was killed by an npc which seams to cause it to break the public quest.

Nope. I wouldn't bother wasting time posting about this sort of thing. Use the bugtracker if it happens frequently.
