I downloaded the client via torrent, but it didn't come through in parts. either that or it unpacked it on it's own. either way, I cannot get the patch client to start, keeps telling me the patch server is offline.

exact wording is as follows "the patch client was unable to retrieve the file [patcher.prod.sig] from the patch server (0 total errors encountered). please try the patch operation again in a short while.

The torrent copy doesn't require unpacking, correct. You need to download the RoR launcher (which you can find at the top of the web page) to log in and play.

Error unpacking:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Users\McCoy\Desktop\Warhammer online\ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll' is denied.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy, Boolean useLongPath, Boolean checkHost)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share)
at RoRLauncher.MainWindow.Unpack(String fileName) Not sure what I need to do here.

Remove read only on the game folder.

Remove the write-protection (right click the game folder -> properties -> disable read-only) from all the files in the WAR folder and try again. You may also try running the launcher with Administrator privileges.

If you used the torrent to download the game, the torrent application may still be using the files. Either copy the entire WAR folder to a new location (if you wish to continue supporting the torrent), or move the entire WAR folder to another location to break access to the torrent.

I'm having the same issues today for some reason, though Friday I launched just fine. Server says it's up, I'm wondering what's going on.
