Okay so I made a few bug tracker posts and got a few of the items changed including the DoK main hand as it has the highest weapon damage by 2 and 3% crit.. really is the best mainhand for melee healers. But do I really have to make a bug tracker post for every single class for every single item?
I know RvR is a mess while it is constantly being reworked/designed. Would it be possible to just have Torq or Github or whoever wants to spend 10 minutes, I bet it'd be less, and just put str/ws on the melee items and str/wounds on the melee items for spirit damage classes that don't use ws like chosen? If it is a tank item make it tanky, if it has healing power on it don't put str on it, if it is a melee power, why the heck is there willpower on it?
I know this won't fix everything. And I know it won't go to waste either. Currently 5 piece merc is not the best for several classes and 3/2 or 4/1 sets give the best stats. So why not spend a tiny amount of time to just make the stats logical?
If I really have to go item by item and say please change this stat to this for every single item in each zone for both destro/order ... nm I probably won't do that haha as I'm mostly just waiting for something to spark me into playing more again. But I think this is such a simple thing and would really make a lot of people happy and when quite a few players are unhappy.. anything is that is an easy positive seems like a win for morale. I get it, we don't have to play here, or we don't have to use those items so lets save those blanket statements.
But does anyone else think it would be a good idea to have one DB/GM spend 10 minutes and redo these items so we have some other interesting things to get? I'm not sure how you deal with the people who have claimed them already, but why not just give them the item again if they sold it? I don't think it'd be that big of a deal.
Just an idea though, figured out of all the things a staff member could spend 10 minutes on. This would hands down have the most positives to it.

Stats like Willpower and Weapon Skill are never useless, it gives parry and disrupt.

Would really like for their to be a pair of healing/damage, defense/healing or defense/damage items offered for each tier of influence.
Not sure what resources are available to the devs to deal with people who've already gotten the items and would want the new items. Maybe a reset of everyones influence bars with a few weeks of warning so people can finish what they were working on?

Re: Tier 4 RvR Influence Rewards - ALLLLLLL OF THEM
I am ALL for this, I bet it would take more than 10 minutes. However I would LOVE to see cool influence items like we had in tier 3... I remember EVERYONE wanting to go for the "crit helm" in Empire cause it was super good to pair with a 4/5 set... Things like that would be cool to see again.
I think these influence items should have overall better STATS than the individual armor pieces from SC/RVR/RUIN however they have no set bonuses which make the other sets better.
But taken individually, IMO, the stats themselves should be superior.
This accomplishes TWO things actually.
1) Provides a TON more gear choices
2) Lessening gear gap between players
The latter is going to be an issue now that RR80 is out since the power difference between an RR80 and a fresh RR40 is going to be HUUUUUGE so allowing slightly easier access to mix-n-match sets would be an awesome improvement. This was how Tier 3 was and people had easy access to Stalker gear + influence gear which could actually make you reasonable geared in a short amount of time. While having 4/5 Duelist or Merc was still better, it atleast provided stepping stones to these gear pieces while not being THAT far behind.

If only staff members would spend 10 minutes on every single little thing any player ever complains about, this game would be fixed!

Re: Tier 4 RvR Influence Rewards - ALLLLLLL OF THEM
How much of their actual damage comes from spirit though? Things like Rending Blade are what is used a huge majority of the time. Touch of palsy's ticks are a big source of burst combined with tooth's additional hits - are spirit, combined with Ravage too.Styrkarr wrote:66% of the chosen's skills use WS.freshour wrote:for spirit damage classes that don't use ws like chosen?

Not to mention WS gives very little parry and most of which is mooted out by the fact that any DPS class will stack strength and mitigate a bunch of the parry WS even gives. Frankly WS is like the LAST stat I care about as a chosen preferring to stack STR/Wounds/Toughness or things like Parry % as well....
So things like WS are frankly lack luster IMO.... Because we have so many sources of spirit damage AND damage isnt even the Chosens focus... it should be on taking a beating primarily... So as Freshour suggested.... Giving STR/Wounds is MUCH MUCH preferred to like STR/WS or Wounds/WS gear...
Dont forget the alternative stuff too.. like the SC weapon > the influence weapon. The SC weapon offers AP/Sec and 4% crit chance which is HUGE combined with Strength/Wounds too... Its ALL the stuff you want. Versus the influence weapon is slightly more DPS and STR/WS....
As a 2H Chosen its no contest what gear is better.... AS I posted above. IMO the BEST way to approach all these pieces are to copy/past the SC/RVR gear except boost each stat a little more....

Re: Tier 4 RvR Influence Rewards - ALLLLLLL OF THEM
We have had some changes to the items already, and while I'm sure everyone is grateful for it you are right in the fact that a lot of the items are pretty out there in stats. One of the prime examples we have of an item that has been changed is the DoK 1h sword. It has been changed from willpower into WS and wounds, while I find this to a be a good change, I do think that the weapons should be equal among all classes, all mdps and tanks have +str +crit +parry, so in my mind it makes sense to make this the stats among all melee variants.
Same can be applied to cloaks, shoulders and belts etc, these influence items very powerful and highly sought after, and will be used for a long time to come, while I agree that they should be changed, when it will be I don't know, that's the database devs
But equality among rewards I think is a fair way to go about it.

Re: Tier 4 RvR Influence Rewards - ALLLLLLL OF THEM
Yeah totally. It seems like a pretty quick fix in the entirety of the game. I'd do their chore or homework for a week lol. I know some of them are in still in school but I'm b/w semesters with over 20 years of schooling under my belt haha. I'd chip in
.
Would be fun to see more of these be great. I get that willpower gives dirupt.. but str/willpower isn't going to make anyone use it imo. Its like that old blue magus drop with WS on it haha. It's not the biggest thing in the world and as magicthighs put it "its just a complaint from his favorite player"
But it'd be worth in the long run to have these be more sought after I think. But just wanted player opinion on it. If it got enough speed I'm sure it wouldn't be that big of a deal to do. I guess if everyone realized they could put it on tracker maybe this thread will get a ton of traker posts for all the items to be changed, who knows.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Tier 4 RvR Influence Rewards - ALLLLLLL OF THEM
I dont know if it would be a quick fix. I think it would take time to get right. Tier 3 did a great job with the stat options as those were viable pieces and even "BIS" in some cases for some classes. But right now I dont know anyone who says "I have 4/5 Merc, time to farm my XXX piece from XXX zone". I guess that is what I miss.... Seeing the mix n match approach. Either players go for one of the three set pieces which kills some options frankly... I miss the days of seeing various pieces as actual options.freshour wrote:Yeah totally.
